Just saw the first news 'flashes' about expansion and legacy servers, not realy read into it.

The trailer looked...well, let's say I had a bit mixed feeling about it. Graphic quality is extremely good (as usual with Blizzard CGI), however, I kinda found the Horde in the video somewhat underwhelming, not the cool "For the Horde" like the cinematic at the Wrathgate (in WotLK).  And that Orc in the cinematic better not be Saurfang, else they made one of the most legendary characters look realy weak ("It's not the axe that cleaves you, it's your body trying to get out of the axe' way").

Also read some posts about destroying Teldrassil (and that propably means Darnassus) and Ruins of Lordaeron (Undercity). Just my 2 favorite cities from each faction... Yeah I know, not that I come there often but...I kinda liked those 2 cities the most.

Vanilla servers, might be nice for nostalgic reasons but... there were a lot of things you found 'OK' back then, but might not be as fun anymore today. I also wonder if they have the old talents/specs, because that would make a big difference to the feeling. And ofcourse the bugs, oooh so many bugs. As a warlock I lost my pet every time I mounted (or dismounted), got stuck in terrein and such.  Always had to have a bag full of soulshards just to keep my pets up (imp excluded ofc).

I guess it's a bit early to draw conclusions yet. I have had a positive feeling about some expansions that were a let down, and other times I kinda was pessimistic about an expansion and ended up being quite good and fun (Cataclysm for example, didn't think much of it, but turned out to be real fun).

World of Warcraft - Dead Men Raiding / WoD Begins
November 14, 2014, 06:19:13 PM
Quote from: Vargen;390936"Under level 10 (or a Death Knight at level 55)" - My bank char is lvl 1 :crying:

Don't see myself opening the account again right now though. â,¬13 per month still, after so many years, and â,¬45 for the expansion. Too bad there is no scroll of resurrection anymore. Would be fun with some free game time to have a look around.

I've had 7 free days just a couple of weeks ago.
Maybe check the account for rewards or something? (7 days free is usualy under rewards, I got that 4 times this year now, so played a full month for free!). Has a cooldown of 3 months orso, usualy I get a mail with 7 free days after a big content patch or expansion.

Logged in Diablo yesterday to ask a friend how the server was yesterday "It's okay-ish" , so I went to the Blizz shop, got a month of gametime, only to find out all my characters "could not be found" after 90% loadingscreen....
I was planning to activate my account later but....once you got that big WoD box just laying there, I couldn't help but realy wanted to play again :P Hopefull the server will settle down soon, so I can at least log in and do a few things.

DMR Members Only / WoD who will be playing...
October 30, 2014, 06:27:15 PM
*heavy voice* I'll be back :cool2:

Actualy, already back with 7 days free game-time, but will re-active account with the expansion.
Not sure if I'll start on day 1 of the expansion straight away, because usaly servers are overcrowded and quests zones overcrowded as well.

Also not quite sure which char to level first, propably the one best suited for soloing dungeons.

If I had to guess, I guess....around.......November or December.

Just a gut feeling.

My plans for world domination.....ruined ...

Funny thing is a friend of mine and me made jokes about this. I wonder what they (the spies) did with all the ICBM's and SCUD rockets we were talking about.
Also, I think my friend' quote "Bin Laden lives!" got the NSA' attention as well :P

My engineer is 'gnomish engineer' , guess they won't see that as much as a threat than a 'goblin engineer' (even though gnomish is
dangerous as well, deathray, mind controll cap, erm...did I mention deathray? :)  )

But seriously I think this must be one of the biggest jokes ever;  convince your boss you are tracking down terrorists in World of Warcraft! lol!
Playing games during work, and getting paid to do it!

Must admit, it does look promising. I never realy liked Outland (big open planes in a dull colour, with the exception of Nagrand and Terrokkar Forrest), but looking at 'old draenor' it's looks a heck of a lot better.
The improved character models is actualy the think that raises my biggest interest. I've never realy had any problems with how characters looked (the detail) but improving the detail is very nice (though I do hope character will still have the 'look' they had when I made them, but with some more detail).

Ah well, I guess it won't be out untill...november 2014 orso?

World of Warcraft - Dead Men Raiding / Patch 5.4
August 15, 2013, 06:04:20 PM
Just seen a trailer of patch 5.4 Siege of Orgrimmar, and..... FINALLY we get to kick Hellscream's ...eh..bottom :)

From the moment they made him warchief I never liked Hellscream (I played both horde and alliance, but I never like Hellscream), so hopefully he will be killed (story-wise).

Problem is...I most likely won't be around for that...bugger (still no time or money for WoW atm).
Ah well, guess you guys just have to kill him for me  ;)

DMR Members Only / your name?
July 17, 2013, 03:21:16 PM
Got many characters, and usualy I stare at the "name" section for...many  minutes, sometimes I just can't come up with a name, and in some cases I  can make up a name in an instant!

But here goes:
Nemesizz (ud  warlock), Nemesizz is pretty much my internet nickname for many things,  which started with Warcraft 3. Nemesis was already token, Nemesiz as  well...so I came up with a double Z and have used it ever since.
Shadowsong  (ne warrior), big fan of NE in warcraft 3, and Shadowsong was a name  that came up a couple of times with the NE's (storywise it was Maiev,  but random battles you also had Shadowsong as name for demon hunter  heros)
Naevryl (ne dr00d), was gonna try Avril but I figured that  name was propably token (the rock-chick, but also the Anti Vehicle  Rocket Launcher from Unreal ), so had Navril, but that didn't look too  elvish (she started on a RP-realm before transferring her to Aszune),  so made it Naevryl instead.
Darkstar (ne Priest), typical "I can't  come up with a name" name...Was thinking about my new inspiration names  (Steelmender, Steelbender, Steelbreaker) only to figure out that I  already used those names...on Aszune on my trial account....wooops, so  staring at the "name" box first thing coming to mind was the space-ship  from Doom 3...which happens to be Darkstar.
Rhaines (tauren hunter),  named kinda after Memphis Raines (or however you spell it) from 'Gone in  60 Seconds' , had a cat pet for a while named Memphis (that was untill I  got Ishura the spider, for those interested, Ishura means spider in  Darnassian ^^)
Meedsh (troll mage), the way you say 'mage' in Dutch  made it when my brother made Rooq the rogue
Stacyx  (be rogue), was going to do xstacy, but I figured someone would  complain about it (z0mg XTC!!!), so made it Stacy-X, but a '-' isn't  allowed so it became StacyX.
Stratton (ud DK), my brother made  Briggs, I made Stratton (both DK's), so we had Briggs&Stratton, for  all you gardeners out there, B&S make lawnmower engines (and man do I  LOVE the sound of a B&S Vanguard V2 engine).
Curseader (be  pally), Curse Aider (helping with curses? ), but most people just see  Crusader  It was a kind of RP-char (even though not on RP realm), was  supposed to be totally evil paladin. Got the title Crusader, so it's  Crusader Curseader
Tripod (tauren shammy), was a Dranei at first,  but back then elemental was a pain to level because there weren't  +spellpower items in the <60 range, so I deleted it, and during (I  thinks WotLK) I re-made a shammy but this time horde, anyway it was  named after the laser shooting monsters/units from Command and Conquer 3  (scrin faction). Pretty much again a "I have no idea name, so let's  call it after something from another game/movie".

Like said, got a  trial account as well (so I can still play wow without paying), and use  names like Steelmender, Steelbender, Steelbreaker there....why? no  idea, just first thing that came up (using Steelbender in Diablo as  well)

Sorry for kicking a bit of an old thread but, I'm afraid I won't be online for a while (again).

I had to 'skip' May because I've spend a bit too much money :P
So the plan was to start again in June....however I've (finally) started with drivers-license and it takes up quite some time (and mostly loads of my scarce energy).
On top of that (worst part) our ISP thought it would be 'fun' to start extended maitenance and upgrades (for the upcoming months!), and my connection is
pretty FUBAR... most days my internet is totally crippled :(

Ofcourse I hope to be back soon, it's pretty boring without WoW ;)

DMR Members Only / GPU woes
April 08, 2013, 01:32:47 PM
We've had a chat in gchat last evening about it (I was on my priest, Darkstar).

It is unfortunatly a common problem for GPU's these days, which is usualy caused by microfractures in the soldering.
I've had my fair share of dead GPU's as well, Geforce 6800, 7900, 8800, and a few from familiy members (laptop versions, but same problem).

I got a video (2 actualy) of me repairing my 6800 by using a snack oven. In case the card totally dies and you haven't got a replacement, you can always try to bake it.
I've done it a couple of times to extend the life of my GPU's a abit (eventually it will die permanetly and you will need to replace it, so far I've managed to bake a card about 4 to 5 times
before it dies permanently).

In case you want to try it out, here's a link to my YT video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUIZAUOSMjA

There are some things you can try to extend the life of your GPU:
-Keep the PC on 24/7, sounds strange, but the warmth (or heat) of the GPU actualy can keep it alive. The fractures start to form because
of the heating up and (drastic) cooling down of the card (happens when you shut down the PC regulary...like me).
-Downclocking, decrease the clock speeds a bit, so the card will remain a bit more stable a little longer, it will cost a few FPS, but
better a few less FPS than a totally dead card (you said it was stock-speed, but still try to underclock it a bit).
-Decrease game setings a bit, so the card has to endure less stress and may remain a bit more stable.
-(optional) get a back-up card, even a el-cheapo budget card will do, so you can at least have an image on screen while you wait for
the arrival of a new high-end card. You may have to put every setting on low, but it's better than a black screen ;)

Good luck!

Well, my brother was willing to pay for 1 month of WoW untill Diablo 3 arrives (he pre-ordered 2 copies D3).
So I guess I'll be on for one more month and then propably off to Diablo 3.

Pretty much as the title says...(hope without typo's ).

I won't be able to play WoW for a while because of a few reasons.
Well...reason number one is obviously money, Im running kinda low on money (only have 800 euro's to spend....an entire year) and so far I've already
spend like 2/3 of that money already in the beginning of this year (well...1/3rd, the other 1/3rd is reserverd). So the first thing to save money on is
unfortunatly WoW (12x13 euro's a year is quite some money on a 800 euro budget).

Second of all, my health issues* and serious lack of energy have caused troubles for end-game content. I simply can't stay behind the keyboard
for 1 or 2 hours straight, so Im missing out raids and dungeons and stuff. Leaves me doing PvP but that isn't much fun.
So because of not being able to do some dungeons and stuff anymore, there isn't much to do anymore besides chatting with friends (I've done
all old content dungeons a bit too often now...go figure after 3 thunderfuries and 2 sulfaras hammers lol ).

And paying 13 euro's a month for a chatbox is a bit much, so I chose to not continue my subscription.

It wasn't an easy decission, mainly because of some friends I've made the past 7 years.
But I fear I won't be online anytime soon anymore :(

I thought I made a post about this, instead of just staying away ;)

Take care and good luck with raiding ;)

* = my health issues have been going on for a long time, and is a rather very long and complex thing to explain.
But in short: it sucks.

DMR Members Only / Lagspikes! need help
February 20, 2012, 07:11:31 PM
Sounds like a software problem. Dead (or broken if you will) graphics cards tend to produce glitches all over the screen called "artefacts". Artefacts are lines crossing all over the screen or textures having different colours than normal.

Low framerates can be caused by many things, like Azunai said heat can be a cause (when overheated parts will "throttle" and will work at a much lower speed than normal to prefent them killing themselves), but also other background software like
virusscanners or other software that is doing stuff without telling (updating, scanning system, etc).

But seeing you've oredered a new PC, you might as well try to hold out untill then ;)

World of Warcraft - Dead Men Raiding / Strange but TRUE
November 14, 2011, 09:44:03 AM
Quotecat´s are stupid so Im belive it

No they're not! Cats are generally very intelligent, but because they got a mind of their own and sometimes outsmart people, people say they hate cats (because they got outsmart by a small furry animal).

My uncle's dog chewed on a powercord and got shocked (still alive, but did get 230V through his mouth), the dog of my brother' boss eats glass (yes glass!), or pretty much anything that falls on the ground...plastic, paper, glass, etc.
Seen a cow eating a plastic bag (try to get that out of a cow).

Haven't seen an animal eating glow in the dark stuff yet...
