I am not and never really have been someone who posts masses of replies on forums, I never seem to be able to find the right words for what I want to put across and find myself disagreeing with what I am typing as I am actually typing it.
I prefer to chat through the problems we are encountering in the officer channel of TS and if you see me logged on to WoW 99 times out of 100 I'm logged into TS, I feel that I get feedback from people when chatting to them on TS that is totally lost in the forums.
I remember being part of a conversation with Trickboxx , TL and Gond on TS that when it was transfered to the forum, bore very little resemblance to the actual conversation that had taken place, this being said I do scan the forums and keep my eye on the hot topics.
As far as my attendance goes, if I'm not at work I am available to raid, I work a shift pattern that means that in a 28 day period I cover every day and night of the week once. This means that in any 28 day period I WILL miss 3 raids due to being on nights.
As far as my role as an officer goes, I am prepared to assist in anyway that I can to improve our raid attendance / performance, this would include stepping aside for someone else to do the job if it was felt they could do a better job.
This is not a resignation or even a rant although as i read back it could appear to be either, it is just me offering my support in anyway that I can. (OMG give me TS anyday, this post has taken me way too long to compose and eaten into my valuable WoW time)

What do the officers talk about when they disappear to the raid leaders channel when forming the raid group? Why do you get moved around from group to group flitting in and out of the subs bench positions? I have added a link with Jas and Sheepy chatting about the raid make up. As you will see we are very professional in our deliberations and you should know you are in good hands :D

Lee can be an aquired taste. He does not tolerate fools glady and can be totally singled minded when he is raid leading. He has a long history of upsettting people whilst he was Raid Leader in OVO, the common thread was that most of the people he upsets are the people who are holding us back.

He was our hatchet man in OVO and the list of people he G/Kicked is legenderary. So for god's sake never give the him ability to kick in dMr or you may find that the deadwood are no longer posting on this website as they are no longer in the guild.

What people need to realise is that no one is safe from Lee's acidic comments, me Jas and dare I even say TL if he ever did something noobish in a raid that lee was running, these comments are not personal they are just lee venting frustrations about peoples lack of knowledge / unpreparedness / not following instructions etc.

The fact that someone can reach level 80 and be raiding ICC 25 which is end game content and not know what has happened to them when they have been DI' ed is the kind of thing that will have pressed all of Lee's OMFG buttons. :ranting2:

All this being said I would join any of Lee's raids any time, he wants the standards to be high and if he needs to berate me now and again, I can live with that.

Good application, please contact one of the dMr officers when online for a guild invite.

Elemental Shaman who has been hard core raider wanting to join us as social member. To be honest don't know if our 25 man raid schedule would be a schedule that he considered social raiding, so he may actually be after a raiding position. I personally don't know Stormreaper, but as he had mentioned Zeol in his application, I spoke to Zeol (Stew) about the application as we were on TS together. Zeol could not praise him highly enough and classed him his top five players that he has encountered (skill and gameplay wise).

http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=30923

As far as gear goes, it looks like good stuff if you check out armoury.

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Aszune&cn=Stormreaper

In my opinion we should bring him in as a social member as he has requested. With a view to promoting him to raider status if he shows the inclination to get involved with our raids.

DMR Members Only / Algalon down!!!!
April 17, 2010, 07:41:38 AM
Another great night of 10 man fun, not only did we get to see our first guildie thrown from the Lich Kings platform by a Valkyrie, we also got to go play with Algalon (The Lich King was looking tired, thought we would let him resharpen Frostmourne, and give him chance to recuperate before our next assault) and play with Algalon we did.

An hour doesn't seem a long time to kill this final boss in Ulduar, especially when half the group gets ported out of the instance due to a resurection bug and one of our members is struggling to get back online due to being dc'ed by the same bug.

But did we let this stop us ... Hell No.  We stopped his plans for the destruction of Azeroth and lit up the sky above Dalaran (Server 12th to DMR).

Fellow DMR Starcallers .... I salute you :yahoo:

Technology Section / Advice On PC Purchase - Please
April 16, 2010, 05:23:30 PM
Hi all,

I am considering upgrading my PC, but don't really know what I should be looking at buying. The main thing I want from it is to be able to Play WOW with all the settings on full. I have been looking at the following PC's online

http://www1.euro.dell.com/uk/en/home/Desktops/alienware-area-51/pd.aspx?refid=alienware-area-51&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1

and

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-065-OE

Not sure if I should be looking at lower spec cheaper machines.

Any advice would be appreciated :D

My current PC is 4 years plus old ...so anything is an upgrade tbh

Hi all,

Just found this thread as I have been reading through the posts. I myself am guilty of missing the hello's and goodbye's that occur in gchat. but to be honest I hate typing in game. That is why whenever I log on into WOW I also log into TS, come join me and have a chat. I find that chatting on TS builds much stronger bonds with the other members of the guild, whether you raid or not. And amazingly when you are on TS you find that you get invited into more groups with other members of the guild. Go figure.:g:

Member Issues & Recruitment / Bored Tank
April 14, 2010, 08:55:28 AM
I am in the process of reading through the site posts and as I was doing so I came across posts relating to our bored tank from Sunday night.

Quote from: JonnyAppleSeed;302909I was grabbed by sokhar last night just after the raid where he pointed out how crap I am at running the raids and im too week to be a guild leader. I should apoint a raid leader as soon as possible as im just plane rubbish. All the wipes we had were my fault and the whole night was a chore and people will leave

Anyway thats him scrached off the list ... tho i do think he ment it in a nice way :roflmao:

Quote from: TeaLeaf;302857I would be extremely concerned if Sokhar was even remotely considered for any leadership role in this guild, for far too obvious historical reasons and given full knowledge of his lack of inter-personal skills.  He has caused people to quit as far back as I can remember with his caustic comments and attitude, right back as far as when I was raid leading in SOG RG1 and we were about to pull Vaelatraz and his comments on TS caused Ragnarh (our MT1 at the time) to log off & quit the game on the spot (he was never to return).

This guy does not appear to have covered himself in glory in the past and my first real encounter with him in a progression raid setting was to be told he had decided to log off because he was bored. This could have quite easily spoiled the whole raid for the other twenty four people who were online. As I said on the night he would probably have recieved a gkick from Ovo for that kind of behaviour / attitude. I fully understand if that is not the policy within dMr but he needs taking to task in some way if he has not already been dealt with. The loss of raider status was discussed, I think the final descision should come from the officers who have known him longest and I am not advocating any particular sanction, if a few strong words are all that is felt is needed then that is fine by me. At the moment I have no idea what his worth to the guild is or what ripples may be caused amonst other guild members if he was dealt with too harshly. but for the good of future raids, I feel some action should be taken.

By the way if some action has been already taken please ignore this post. I have just finished nights missed the tuesday night raid and WOW is down for maintenance ...Got to release my frustrations in some form or other

DMR Members Only / ICC10 pug alt run 9/4/10
April 14, 2010, 08:14:53 AM
Just spotted this thread, and i would like to add my thanks to you guys for arranging two really fun runs. The algalon fight was an eye opener and the mimiron encounter is just insane (especially after a few Beers). TL if you could also express a word of thanks to the guys who you brought in to help with the early morning madness that was the ICC10 alt run it would be appreciated :D

These are not too unexpected birthing pains, that were bound to happen when you have merged two guilds and have had an influx of 20 plus new members all competing for raiding spots. Unfortunately the first people who will feel the pain are the undergeared / under skilled and their screams will be long and loud.
As officers it is our duty to ensure that the skilled but undergeared players are involved as often as possible. As we have already discussed the perfect place to do this is on the first four bosses in ICC 25 and to run succesful ICC 10's with a few undergeared mixed in. Can we help the people who appear to be underskilled? Well these forum pages are thick with advice and assistance on how you can improve your gameplay.
Finally there is an onus on the members who find themselves in the above positions to help themselves, they can PUG TOC10 TOC25 VOA10 VOA25 ensure they complete the random dailies and random weeklies therefore maximising their emblem intake.

DMR Members Only / Raiding Eligibility Questions
April 12, 2010, 04:01:13 PM
Quote from: Drakelin;307963i belive that if you want loot from a specific boss you should be in the raid from the beginning and not swap through specific bosses as this would be unfair to the rest whos doing all the work just to get it nicked away,
we need some rules about that

The whole point of people sitting out on the first bosses is to allow the people who need the gear from these bosses the chance to get it. You should not think that "hey I'm doing all the work here so I should be in for the whole raid". The people who need the gear should be more of the opinion, that people who would have been in competition for their raid place have stepped aside to allow for them to gear up. People who actively step aside should then not be penalized because they were not involved in the first 3 - 4 bosses. In my opinion they should be applauded for allowing other members to raid / gear up.
