Battlefield 4 / Back to the battlefield
September 18, 2018, 03:41:08 PM
For me BF4 is still the best battlefield to play at this moment. Although some previous battlefields were very good, I don't think you will enjoy those titles that much in this time ;-)

Too bad there are not a lot of good BF4 servers anymore.

Battlefield 1 was a big disappointment for me (still played 471 hours though) and is also the reason why I did not pre-order battlefield V.
I do like the WW2 setting, but a modern shooter would have been welcome too. BF4 is still the best battlefield IMHO.
I have mixed feelings with this beta and I will play it a bit more. But most likely I will not pre order it. I might buy it if a lot of my friends buy the game. Because that is what it is all about for me. Playing with friends.

Quote from: Ninja_Freak;416773To TOGA have a server ready to go??

Not yet, but we will probably have a server.

Quote from: Ninja_Freak;416634I'm with you Tut. The game isn't perfect (no surprise) but I'm really enjoying the gameplay. The servers are a bit ropey at the moment but they were with BF3 and BF4 at this point (still don't know why they can't get it right in the first place??).

I will go all in but will wait for a discount post launch.

I pre-ordered the standard edition at a keysite (g2play) for 42 euro. But I know some also bought it for 30 pounds at hotukdeals a while ago.
The season pass/premium will probably bought as well, but I'll wait for that as the first dlc will be in february.

I agree with you Chaosphere. I have played 411 hours in this game, so well worth the money. Last time I played this game was on 30-12-2015 though. But somehow it feels wrong to get a paid dlc on a beta or early access game. It means they spend time on dlc instead of the unfinished original game.

You could also say that some triple A games also sell dlc before the game is actually where it's supposed to be (bf4 is an example), but that doesn't make it right.

I am enjoying this beta, and I will buy this game for sure. The game is fun to play with a few on teamspeak. If you play it alone, it's not that fun at all imho.

The new system with how the tickets go, I don't like that tbh.

Thanks for the kind birthday wishes!

I played the beta, game really looks great. But I don't think I will buy this game, it felt too much of a grind to me.

I bought this game and it's good :)

What kind of server are you all playing on? Is it pvp or pve?

Quote from: Jamoe;408797Only problem with that is quite often you need the lower engram before you can get the higher level ones so you have to pick them up anyway. For example, you can't get the wooden foundation without first getting the thatch.

Unless you have the blueprints what Roguetaylor is talking about. Items made out of blueprints are often better than the normal engram items.

Battlefield 4 / Is it worth buying?
December 30, 2015, 12:41:09 PM
Quote from: TeaLeaf;407756The reason we stopped was simply that not enough people were playing it.   It was a forced rental (thanks for the choice EA) server, so when we had nobody on it for 5-6 nights of the week and few others on the 1-2 nights per week it was used, it simply did not make sense to continue to pay for it.   Each DLC fragmented the community and we ended up below critical mass.

I played the game too, ignoring the bugs, I enjoyed it too.  My beef is entirely with their approach to the community (no dedicated server) and their constant rip-off mentality (bringing the game to market before bugs fixed and then the constant additional charge DLC).    If they issued a DS then the game owuld have lasted much logner as we could have built around it, which perversely would probably earn them more money than the current approach as more people would buy the game!

So, my post was heavily tongue in cheek!

I can only but agree TeaLeaf. And I know and understand the reason why we don't have a server anymore.
We only played on friday, and even then it was difficult to get the server full.
