Sorry, I don't get it :P

AC will definately fill the void/need of LFSers, but I still believe there is room for LFS also. It has something organic in it, and also being around for so long it already created a bond with the audience that goes beyound "it's just a game". This only I reckon would still sell the S3 when/if it comes out. Add a bit of melancolia, a bit of curiosity.. Also, with the rewritten DX9 code one could hope for some graphical progress also..AFTER the phisics update..
Beeing largely/masively played online as it once was..that's another thing. I guess AC netcode should fail bigtime.. :).
Personally, I will purchase S3 on day one out of respect and admiration for Scawen, even if I might never play it as much.
Hoping only that it DOES get finished.. :).

Hi guys, can I join the party ? :P

And on the subject, that M3 E92 is the best I've ever felt in a sim. And this (blasphemy ?) includes LFS.. :)

Hey guys, hoping to join tonight the 1 h race (can't find the bloody dedicated topic to post) :).
A preventive question please:
Supposing somebody would ask, would it be possible to make an exception and allow custom cam in race ? :)
Thanks,
Luchian

PS: no, it's not for me :)

I'd love to, but what time is it ?
(we have official race from 18:30 UTC to about 20:00 UTC, and I can't miss it 'cause I'm fighting for the title :D )

Hey guys,
Actually my point would be to merge the 2 events : RLR's Sunday League Race with Monkey's Sunday Race ==> ONE common Sunday Race
With 2 simple endings: have more racers on the start grid and in the same time not to clutter one's weekly racing schedule :).

Anyways, I understand your point, just wanted to clarify mine :). Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi guys,
I figured it's not the case (yet :P) for a new thread, I'm just throwing one idea on the table. Hypothetical discussion, at this point :).

I don't know how things are for you guys, but in our league, the participation in official races diminishes week after week. We are currently at the middle of our 8th season, and last week we were only 5 drivers in the starting block !!!
I know that, generally speaking, LFS is on a descendent line, but it still can be a lot of fun !

So, what I was thinking is why not join forces with a league/community that has the same racing style ?
What would be your thoughts for such a proposal ?

I must admit that our racing schedule and type is a bit.. different maybe, but I can assure it is fun ! (don't judge it by the presence :) ).

Here is some data:
  • Season length: 17 Rounds = 17 weeks
  • We have 2 seasons/year (1 starting in September, 1 starting in March)
  • Races take part every Sunday evening (18H30 UTC..if I'm not wrong in conversion)
  • One season = ONE car ! (or at most one class) ! (not that bad as it might sound actually) :)
  • Race format:
    • Quali 15 min or 30 min, depending on the track's length
    • Quick Race : 15 min
    • Main Race : 30 min (reversed grid for the first 8 pilots)

Whole event takes usually maximum 1h30, with the pauses and dead times included.

What it would take for this to succeed:

  • Enough interest both on your end, and "our" end (haven't yet discussed this with the guys << hence the hypothetical)
  • Finding the good racing hour that could arrange most of the drivers
  • Manage to harmonize both your current race schedule and ours: makes from the 2 >> just a common one
  • Agreeing on the format to apply
I can take care of the standings, I am doing it anyways currently.

Why YOU ? Glad you asked :)

  • I have already stated that you seem to defend the same principles in racing; not only beeing fast, but beeig respectful in the first place !
  • Your level seem close to ours; good balance between racing for fun and making fast lap times (good spread of skill, just like in our league)
  • We have already raced together once, and it was very pleasant (at least for me/us)

Please, discuss :).

Sportively,
Luchian

Mneah, actually I knew that, but as the event was meant to be DMR vs RLR, I have put everybody under the same colors :).

It is similar in our case with GTS; they are running with us, in RLR championship, but they are not RLR "per say". They were for a night though.
Basics idea is that we have to gather ranks :).

Sorry to have seen you go lameduck, and also sorry that atomant didn't take part.

Both I and RLR racers found it to be a cool event, with lots of clean racing and good pace. For those of you reading this from "outside" I can confirm that Dead Men are a cool bunch of guys that know "polite" on and off track. I suppose I tend to insist on this, but I find it one of the main ingredients in online racing, or online gaming in general. Personally I had a lot of fun, with a lot of duels, and didn't feel at all the race(s) being too long. I suppose that 3 times 20 minutes would've also worked, instead of 20+40.

As promised, here are some standings after this first encounter. This is only to motivate more of you to take part in a next occasion :).

Thank you,
RLR Luchian
