Interesting find - for the sake of Science, I've purchased one of them to get it a try. Plus at £45, it's not the end of the world if it turns out to be duff. If anyone is interested, I'll post some thoughts on it once I have it set up.

Quote from: albert;420131I bought ABZÛ last night and started it up intending to just see how it looked. An hour later I had to pull myself off the PC to bed.

If you like games that are just different, this that and also looks beautiful.

Is Abzu the one by some of the people that worked on Journey? I didn't play many games on the PS3 but Journey was a lovely game and I'd love to find another similar game

I'm always in favour of Q-ships and surprise tactics.

It's my Birthday! / Black Friday Sales Dilemma!!

Until they start releasing the new map packs, there isn't much purpose in buying the Premium/season pass. Plus since the people who play a lot of Battlefield will almost certainly have premium, it makes the whole 'Priority Queueing' a bit pointless (that might not actually be a thing anymore, can any DMW BF players clarify?)

Thanks for that Smilo, very comprehensive (sorry if my questions are a bit basic, I'm taking the 'pay little attention to the game so I don't get hyped out' approach). I wasn't aware that you and TL met Chris and Sandi in a West London pub but, as you say, even if you didn't discuss it with Chris and Sandi when you and TL met them in a West London pub for a pint, those are very good ideas.

I'm glad there isn't an XP system, its good there is a level playing field when it comes to players. Only downside is I can't blame my incompetence on some skill system. Hey ho.

That's a good idea, OB. I'm a bit behind the times - is there a RPG-like skills/perks tree to customise characters for different professions. I only ask as I shall have a dedicated smuggler character called 'Han Yolo' to earn everyones scorn and contempt.

Now thats sorted, I just need to engineer a situation where some of us kite a group of enemies near a jump point then have the rest of us jump in with frigates and fighter escort and mop up. I'm all for ambushes.

On a tangent, have they said how ship storage works? I assume that your character has a persistent location (so it remains where you logged off) and not a fast travel to other star systems/owned locations. I also assume that ships work the same way, they remain in a fixed location unless you fly it somewhere else/have it transported for you. I was just thinking about what happens if a friend gets jumped in a location you're nowhere near, if you could fast travel to a nearby location and spawn in a ship. Probably not, so I'm guessing you'd have to pick a central staging area and operate in the surrounding star systems.

And if Galatoni wants meet to scrape the paintwork off his Starfarer on Port Olisar's landing pads, I'm always available. I might also be around to help out with performing an excorcism on Rogue's haunted Connie.

Sounds good Rogue, it'd be fun to get some people together in one instance. Especially if some of us have some swag multi-crew ships. HEM HEM. I'll be one from 7pm onwards on Friday.

I've added you to my contacts now - I'm around weds-friday and can be on from about 6:30 to whenever if you'd like to have a go then. You might need someone more knowledgeable about GrimHex but the rest I can do.

Likewise, Rogue. If Smilodon or one of the more knowledgeable types isn't on, I'll join you and when can muck around for a while.

Hopefully it'll have downloaded and finished murdering by bandwidth by the time I get home from work. Can't wait to get back into SC properly.

There are two parts to the DLC - consumables (money, crafting parts and Praxis points which upgrade the augs) which are one time only and persistent ones like weapons, skins and augmentations, which are available on every playthrough. I've got a friend on my Steam friends list who has been playing it and the consumable microtransactions seemed to be aimed at people who was to get quick access to the high end augs/purchases, rather than being the only way to actually play the game properly.

So, whilst I agree with Gorion that the whole concept is a bit crap, neither is it a deal breaker for me. I'll just ignore the microtransactions when I finally get some free time to play the game.

Likewise, I haven't been around for a while - job based shenanigans but seeing this made me immediately go out and update SC. 22gb later, I was wandering around Olisar and ArcCorp. I'd seen ArcCorp early on but its truly something now. Apart from the 15 or so people crawling round in the ArcCorp central area. That was odd. I'll probably be on it over this weekend, seeing whats what. I don't know if anyone else is around but I've added almost everyone from the RSI org page to my contacts, so I might see some of you 'out there'. And nearly time for the Reliant! A ship I didn't totally buy because it reminded me of the B-Wing. Because that would be mental.

I've also sent the video to about 3 or 4 friends who have recently got back into PC gaming. Hoping I might be able to hook a few.

They are outstanding - thank you so much, they'll be a great help for my drawing. I've spent weeks trying to find reference photos and you've sorted it in less than half a day. I'm in your debt.
