Battlefield 2 / How to play commander
December 13, 2005, 03:16:30 AM
On the CO note, if you guys could have a commander with no assets would it be useful to you? Mainly I'm thinking out loud about still having the squad to squad co-ordination.

Battlefield 2 / Tonights games
December 13, 2005, 03:11:25 AM
Is Monday night definitely BF2 night for you guys then (*laments not seeing this 12 hours ago*)?

If you'd like I can see if I can whip up a bit of interest from the TG area of things - I know I'm very interested in getting back into games with you guys.

Wow, that is an extremely detailed response. Very well administered.

Whilst we're on the whole DMw / TG chatting - fancy setting up another scrim sometime?

Great medic work by the way Blunt - that was my first win on the PLA side for Wake so I was quite pleased (even if I had a chat or two with our CO about not ordering us off the airfield!).

I like this map, but agree that it is quite one sided to the USMC team, as the bombing runs are devastated against static positions. If you played it as infantry only on AAS I reckon at 6-12 a side it would be a fantastic map, fighting through the jungle pathways!

QuoteBTW any of you guys had Bommando as SL?Passionate is not the word, excellent leader,I even went out next day and got a hair cut in case he saw it wasnt regulation, lol.

HAHAHA!! Perfect :)

Would be good to see you guys for the euro night, but similarly I would love to see a DMw night set up as well, that way us euro-TG'ers can have a euro-away day and come and raid your server too :D

Battlefield 2 / Revised classes and more weapons!
November 04, 2005, 02:21:54 PM
I've always thought that Pilot should be a class in it's own right. You can only fly or gun a jet or helo if you are of this class. Would be equipped with simple weaponry like a pistol, and maybe a flare / smoke for being picked up if shot down.

Not overly applicable to the arcadey style of BF2 maybe.. but maybe still worth the investigation.

Battlefield 2 / TG - Euro
October 29, 2005, 10:43:45 AM
Cool - I'll galvanise the TG Euro's into some action by posting up that you are interested in a scrim sometime.

No worries about the ladder - it isn't really meant to be competitive, more of a way to congregate tactically minded communities into one place so they can see each other.

For example TG played gamecommunity.co.uk (GCHQ) a few weeks ago. They agreed about no bunny hopping/dolphin diving/ucn camping, etc. and were good fun and had great sportsmanship. Incidentally they are also UK based, so you guys might want to plug them up for a game sometime too! :)

Battlefield 2 / TG - Euro
October 28, 2005, 02:58:19 PM
Hey guys - over at TG a few of the european based player are trying to get together a Euro squad (probably based at tacticalconflict.com - a website used to get different clans and communities playing games).

Anyways they are still in the early stages, but I thought it'd be good to maybe try and get a scrim together, TG-Euro vs DMw. If the general concensus is that you guys are interested I'll let the TG-Euro thread know about it, and hopefully that'll galvanise them into action!

Also check out tacticalconflict.com - you can set up a team on this, as there is a BF2 ladder.

Battlefield 2 / I have the IFF Bug.
October 28, 2005, 02:54:10 PM
Norm - don't worry about it at all. Loads of us have had this bug. I got a -19 on teamwork last week for this reason - took me 15 mins to work out that the guy was in my squad. People are understanding of this :(

Good games last night by the way - Norm got a couple beauties on me in Karkand!

October 28, 2005, 11:34:43 AM
So THAT'S what you guys did to me! hahaa.. that'll teach me for answering the phone.

Still, considering it was from my gf I guess not answering the phone would have had similar results ;)

Sorry ranger, totally misread you. Apologies all on my side! (I must say I was a bit shocked). Thanks to blunt too for pointing out my total mistake!

erk!

anyways, it was really good fun last night, and thanks for being patient about my chopper handling (oh-err!).

Battlefield 2 / BF2 on |TG|

Hi Wulfyn, it might just have been that game, my squad did end up driving from base to base on a number of occaisions, but then tactics sometimes dictate this is the way to win. Not a problem, and I did enjoy my first game on TG - as I said I'll definitely go back. I didn't have any TG guys in our squad so comms was fairly minimal, but thats to be expected I guess.

Good to see you on the dMw server mate :)
