I was in your squad. You don't suck at SL-ing. You did quite alright.

Thanks Coolhand, but I do think I like to get stuck in too much, which means I get shot which means my squad mates can't spawn on me. I just need to practise at it and curb my natural urge to advance.

Ranger:
You don't need an m24 or m95 as long as you've got the m4 mate - you got me too many times on the first Mashtuur, whereas I couldn't hit shite with the F2000 or G3 :P I eventually switched back to the good ol' Kalashnikovski :D

As for tonight - I might be there. It depends on various stuff... But I sure want to :)

You sniped me more times than I care to remember!!! Or maybe it was the M4.... I ended up dead, anyway  :D

The best fight is in the city maps!

It was the M4 mate - I had better luck with that than I did the sniper rifle!

Quite surprised really as the M4 should have a lot shorter range/accuracy than even the M16, never mind the sniper rifle!

:)

...I got a couple of nice positions across the river from your MEC base, and caught you crossing the river bed a few times - took me a few shots, but I got you! (And Dewey!)

It's quite cool, now if I can only get the hang of the C4 I may change class! :)

If you want to see some unusual C4 techniques, download "The Final Stand (TFS) BF2 Skills Movie" it's a big dl though

use x-fire/files/popular downloads to locate it

it's not really "our" way of playing...but interesting nonetheless

Cool is right, you did well. Good directions and orders. We might have lost Karkand, but that was not your fault. Well played mate.

Yup. Used two unlocks on assault - that gives you the G3 and the F2000. The cool thing is that it doesn't matter which side you're on - even the chinese army now have F2000  :P

Don't really know if it's worth using two unlocks just to get it, but what the hey... gotta use 'em on something right?

So tell us what its like to fire.

Also are you saying you must unlock the G3 before you can unlock the F2000?

Yes, you have to unlock the G3 first...

I dunno what to say about it really. I haven't really compared them as such, but my initial feelings:

I can't seem to hit anything with it, but that may not be the rifle's fault

(Remembering a long distance shootout between me and Ranger on Mashtuur last night, where he took me out with his M4. I don't now if I even hit him ;) )

I guess single shot is fairly accurate, and damage seems to be effective, when I do hit someone... Right now I can't even remember if it has burst or auto, but either way it wanders a lot when using burst/auto, so it's pretty useless from a distance.

Up close it's pretty ok, but overall I don't feel there's much difference. It seems the grenade launcher throws longer (or is it further? Even farther perhaps?) but it may be an illusion.

I think things went better for me when I used the G3 or the usual M16/Kalash. Of course you miss the grenade launcher when using the G3, but that weapon is simply cool :)

Besides that, the F2000 is downright ugly   I like the classic design of the M16 much better. That's how an assault weapon should look like.

I think I'd rather have the G36 or the Scar-L/H instead of the F2000. Those guns seemed better somehow...

Thanks mono, interesting read. I wouldn't be too hard on the F2000 though, you probably haven't used it anywhere near as much as you have the G3 and stock weapons.

I tried the F2000 in the SF single player mode the other day...(hasn't your Special Forces arrived yet Dewey?)

:)

Anyway - I found the rifle bit a little less accurate than the M16, even though you have a scope with teh F2000...

But the most annoying thing is the grenade launcher - you might as well be using teh standard M203!

The Alliant Techsystems / Heckler-Koch XM-29 SABR / OICW assault rifle (USA):

Is the weapon that the F2000 is most commonly compared too - BUT the main difference is that the OICW had an AUTOMATIC 20mm grenade launcher!

Really after a short play with the F2000 I returned to the M16/M203 combo. Little if any advantages.

:(

(Waste of an upgrade - I would have preferred a G36E/HK AG36 40mm underbarrel grenade launcher combination instead.)
