The other night, I wanted a fix of BF2. Unfortunately, our server was closed becuase of the match....

So, I figured I'd go to a ranked server and play a sniper, just for fun.

I arrived, and as I expected, it was a tk-ing, ff-ing (friend-fraggin') one-against-all server.

So, what to do? I tried to join some squads and politely say that we would score mor points if we cooperated. Didn't work. I then formed a chopper squad, named it airlift, and offered airlift to different squads. I soon got a couple of squadmates, politely asked them to man the guns so that we could airlift other people safely into hot LZs... no use, my teammates shot me in the back to get to the chopper before me...

I then formed an infantry squad, called it teamwork. I repeatedly used the mic and gave orders, and encouraged squadmates to cooperate. Everytime someone started soloing, I informed the squad that I'd leave the squad and start a new one - anyone interested in teamwork could follow me.

Guess what?

After about half an hour, I had a full squad with people who actually did their best to help each other out. No need to say, we took more flags than any other squad or solo soldier.

I of course used the opportunity to promote our style of play and our server!

Yeah, I'm proud!  :D

Well... the SL-ing could have been a tad better. It basically consisted of: Attack here, defend here, cover me I'm going in!

What was the most fun? Actualy seeing that a full squad could make mincemat out of lonewolves, even snipers!

The only opponents we couldn't take out was people from our own side (they usually shot us if we tried to take a chopper) - I don't teamkill. At least not on purpose   :D

Well done m8  8)  Now we know - we just have to spend ½ hour sorting people out to play the game like it was meant to be on ranked servers <_< ...anyways, if you feel like someone joining you on a ranker server, let me know on x-fire and I'll be there :D Could be fun to promote dmw in that way.

It took 1/2 an hour to get six people to coop, but it was a 64 player map with around 32 players at any time, constantly logging on and off....

It's much easier to join the dMw-server and boss ranger and the others around...

:lmfao: ... not much point in promoting dmw to them, though  :D

I find the best thing to do is to find a clan-run ranked server (multiplay.co.uk variants) and then look for squads containing one or more of the clan members. usually results in teamplay to some extent. I'll post some good ips later if I remmeber

Same here. Usually there are loads of people looking for some teamwork.
If they are US, I point them to |TG|, if they're Euro's I'll give them the dMw-homepage.

As I suggested in another thread, a raid of dMw-ers on a publicserver might work.
Last night me and Dewey were playing on a server but they kicked everyone. It might have been because we captured all the bases within 5 minutes and the enemies kept trying to get the planes.
