Cadaver

I tried my hardest to give it a go and like it...

...but I failed.

Whereas BF2 felt special from when I first played the Oman demo, this just feels cheap and thrown together.

Unless the finished game is significantly better than the demo (unlikely as release is ten days from now) I think I too will be giving it a miss.

1) BF2 was a new experience for us (mostly) CSers, being way bigger and more imersive. BF2142 does not have the same wow-factor as a result, but it would have had if it'd come out in BF2's place.

2) The demo has no unlocks, making the reduced number of classes feel very limited, and thus making the game seem less interesting (and making Titan assaults dull without grenades, and infantry vs vehicle combat a no-goer). A few unlocks'll make things more fun.

3) The demo map is pants, true, but the general consensus is that it's not representational of the general map quality.

4) Fine, give up on it now. You'll be missing out.

I think not :narnar:

DuVeL

Quote from: Le Rouge;155159@Duvel: I'll rephrase the question for a correct one (still learning...):
how do I choose which FACTION to join?

@Blunt: had the same problem; I DLed te latest (very recent) DX9 package. Anyhow, glad it worked for you, and now, on which server do we meet?

Press enter aswell, there´s 2 flags above the squads and such. Select the flag you want to join )doesn´t work on all servers.
Survivor of LAN V, VI, VIII, IX, X, XII, XIV, XVI, XVIII, XX, XXIV, XXX, XXXII, XXXIV and XXXVI so far...

[QUOTE]Cheesepuff...A cyborg is sent from the future on a deadly mission. He has to kill Ninja_Freak, a young Man whose life will have a great significance in years to come.Ninja has only one protector - DuVeL - also sent from the future. The Terminator uses his exceptional intelligence and strength to find Ninja_Freak & attempt to terminate him.

Liberator

First thing that came to mind when I went on Titan mode.

'Tribes2'

Flying around in gunships and transports, attacking the enemys main base by destroying shield generators and such.

Without a full loadout, not even C4 for the consoles, it makes it a longish game, but I can imagine when all the unlocks are available that the rounds will go quite fast unless they toughen the things.

Single drops of Ammo and health are a good idea, if you drop a second pack the first one self destructs (not damaging).

Some sort on Anti-'Anti-Titan' system on the motherships would be a good idea, taking troops out of the assault to defend the main ship from inbound missiles would be good. At the moment you only have to defend the ship once the shields are down.

Although I was happy to be finishing in the top 4 or 5 players on most maps and I seem to have worked out most of the craft, finished as the top player quite a few times on a full (48') server.

I like the demo, but then again its new and I like to play on new things for a while before coming back to the old stuff.

We'll see.

outofsync

I have cancelled my pre-order from play. The demo sucks like a big sucky thing... and I dont believe the retail version will be much better with the unlocks. BB hit the spot no wonder they got beta testers to agree to an NDA. The guys who did the POE mod have done a better job than EA. EA have completely screwed the BF series. RIP.

I was more concerned with this list:

all unfixed bugs in BF2 are in BF2142!
