At play.com - http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/3324704/S_T_A_L_K_E_R_Shadow_of_Chernobyl/Product.html
There's also a limited-edition one too which is £24.99. I don't know why the game RRP is £34.99 but the limited-edition RRP is £29.99 however. :eyebrow:

I'm tempted to get it. :g: :flirty:

Me and a few forummebers probably disagree.
Although there are a few bugs and such, which game hasn't, better yet, you're using Windows right? Now when is that not bugfree?

BTW, -=[dMw]=- also has an affiliates onlineshop which probably TL is going to type about in a few minutes.

i really like the game mate, but honestly its 25% of what it was supposed to be

the final product was rushed cos they were afraid thq will pull the plug this time. this game as it is should have never passed beta

I might as well wait a bit i guess, i could do with upgrading my main PC anyway.   I have to agree it's not good getting a product as soon as they come out, it's usually best to wait for updates or cheaper prices.

Well, I've got a mate on Xfire right now who's playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R, so I'll ask him.... although personally, I'd buy it. It's just that parents aren't too keen on me playing a game based on a Nuclear accident that caused the deaths of thousands...

On the other hand i would argue that many environmentalists such as myself would like to visit chernobyl but due to presence of radioactive material i and many others are not too keen to go anywhere near it. In all fairness i am pretty interested in the whole chernobyl event and the whole aftermath that the event caused. I have read and watched alot of documentaries about it in the past few years.  My purchasing of the game will allow me to see the area around the power station that i will not be able to see and from what i understand there has been a significant emphasis on the amount of realism to the plants surrounding areas. In all i think its another educational way of   interacting with younger generations and allowing them to see what happened back then and its effects. There was also a public outcry when Saving Private Ryan and then later Medal of Honor showed such utter destruction on the big screen and small screen respectively. What we must remember is that alot of people wouldn't have understood what happened on d-day if it wasn't for the films and games that have portrayed these events. It is quite simply another tool to pass on information to the younger generation so they can realise what happened.

GMJR, Stalker is about a second nuclear happening.
For the rest, I did see a few pictures from Stalker and RealLifesituations around there which they made really good.
Compairing shooters to history, you can't really do that. So in a war if you rush, just find a medic or get some bandages and you're healed again?

@Technical, are your mom and that restricting you that bad?
Some people even say that games like CounterStrike are causing highschoolshootings and such. If that's the thing you'd better watch out when I'm near because I've been playing lots of CounterStrike.

Ahwell, gaming for me is just a sort of way of stressrelieve.
Shooting people online or ingame is just a way that I wouldn't do in RealLife...Or maybe I might...

I personally feel you'd have to be remotely demented to play a game, then suddenly decide "let's try that in real life!". Unless of course the game is Teletubbies, then it's understandable. :g:

Know what you mean, like yesterday, I had a go on BF2142 and I was running round knifing people, quite funny really, because they didn't spot me, and my knife blows kept missing.
But what was even better than that was,
this:
There was a speeding buggy flying at me, so I got outta the way, ( An enemy in it. ) he hit some outdoor stairs ( the metal ones. ) he couldn't get it out so he got out and started to try sneaking off, I came up behind him filled him with a clip  of the Engineer secondary gun, Then I repaired the buggy, got in it, but had trouble getting out, and there are a few enemys watching me like, WTH? they go and start killing my team, so I eventualy get out, then I come speeding roung there flank, there is this person just standing there, so I fly into him, *Splat* he's gone. ^^ And there's another on on the ground flat on his stomach, so I fly towards him, he moves out of my way. ( 0.o ) so I try going back and forwards to get him, but he keeps moving, ( he still doesn't know I'm there. ) I eventualy get him and i'm amazed that he didn't see me.
Me and 'Harry Beaver' had a laugh over that one.

Basicaly, I don't think his parents like the idea of going through something
  that might/has happened. I think. 0.o

I don't think games cause people to hurt other people, unless the game causes stress. Then it might.

And yeah, All stear clear of DuVeL :P
