dunno any other was machines then miele really, we always use miele, 3 years back we had a new one. The old one broke after almost 19 years of loyal service (and not to mention my mother had me and my sis in cotton dipers when we where babys, and my sis uses almost 10 diffirent pieces of cloths each week (not talking about under wear). so you can guess how much it has been used :P)

I heard that both of my uncles at my mothers side bought non mieles in lower price ranges and they too are on there 2nd washing machine. Only diffirence is that they are married for 6 and 9 years resp. :)

so go Miele :D

Quote from: Benny;209669My hinge broke after 4 years, I bought a new one for a fiver, fitted it in 5 minutes and bingo.

We've ordered the hinge for £10 (damn inflation/rip off sales people) but still. The door falling off is one of the things on my list of things that a washing machine shouldn't do. Along with flooding the kitchen, catching on fire, drowning kittens and having late night raves.
Juggling Hard Disks over concrete floors ends in tears 5% of the time.

When you fit it, beware the back end of what you screw into disappearing into the machine. Undo one end, screw back into it to hold it, undo the other.
You'll understand when you mess up and have to pull the front off the machine with a crowbar...
