I agree, when you're finished be sure and share them out

I must work on setups more in the future, as I felt hampered more that usual nursing the car most of the way instead of being able to attack.

I think it is bit that way in long races. Usually those mad hotlappers find themselves upside down or fixing damage at the pit. I think you must have some patience too - the winner is found only after 1 hour.

I had to drive maybe 1 sec slower laps in the beginning. I'm not sure there is a set with which you could drive the whole 1h on limit with XRT. FO8 was bit different with wings and huge slicks as it seemed to eat much less tyre. Besides Aston National is not very demanding on the car imho. In a way it is always interesting to see who is able to adjust the speed vs tyre heat up best.

I arrange a 'tyre test' offline before the long race. I try to find how the tyres last (heat up and wear) and think the strategy. Sometimes I make small changes to set making it sometimes easier to drive or using less tyres. Even if this would sacrifice some speed it might be beneficial in a long race.

Whooooooooooooosh!

Hear that? That was the sound of all this techy talk going way above my head at supersonic speed :D

I'm always generous with my setup's Tea Leaf. But the lads often turn their noses up at my set's, muttering some rubbish about them being looser than a prozzies knickers.:g:

I generally (but not always) know if the set is going to be generally liked, and am more than willing to share, I prefer a good race to a walk over.

Roll on the next race. :boxing:
dMrDeetz is currently :

Lameduck

I really enjoyed the video until the last few moments when the the world was informed that 12th and last was Lameduck:ranting2:

Really good video, well done Romus:D

Aquilifer

Lameduck you were not the last. There was a bunch of those who didn't even finish. :nevermind:

Exactly, I did not finish for example, but this first video just needed to be finished, and too much self criticism would have just made it impossible.

Next one can be more accurate and better in many ways. I want make a video of the next 1h race as well, and then I'll see how interesting it is to continue. My main motivation is to learn to tell the story of the race with a video.

Don't get me wrong, your method is very logical if I think about it. The problem is probably with me, incapable of thinking during race. :)

Maybe it would help if I didn't close my eyes and hope for the best while lapping someone. :lmfao:

Seriously, I haven't had any problems lapping anyone in this race, as usual, cheers for that. :thumb:

Quote from: DeetzI hope no one minds this war and peace reply, onwards and upwards.

What do you mean, I don't understand. Where's the war in your reply? Is my opening post considered offending too?

I'm looking forward to it.

He was referring to Tolstoy's epic novel 'War and Peace' a great read for when you're on holiday.....not! As a book it makes a good doorstop.

Doh! This happens when you are not used to the foreign names of works. I mean, I know it's called War and Peace in English, it just didn't click my mind.
