The clear ESCD!

If that fails, try reset bios on mobo

Looking at the posts it seems close to a problem I had with my power supply failing. Random BSOD when under any sort of load.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning. It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion

Mobo dont have an option to clear it, ill try a reset.

JAS, PSU is still working.

If this dont work ill do a format, or just buy a new computer, which i need to do anyway :flirty:

if its a hardware problem formatting wont help..

to stop it from rebooting, right click on my computer, properties, advanced, settings under the "startup and recovery part" and turn off auto restart

and pray that the error aint nv4_disp.dll

Ive had this issue before..

as bassy said he cant clear the ESCD in BIOS as the older Intel boards do not have this option, the mobo should clear the errors itself, but its a Intel board, with which this particular series is immensely limited in the BIOS options.

A bios reset might do the trick, but so could a format of windows. My guess is  that the IRQ table got bonkered somehow (happens at times) and as Windows dont reaquire a new IRQ table each boot, windows is now getting ****ed up by a error in the table and BSOD's every time each tries to access a certain piece of hardware, my guess is the soundcard, cause it is located in the furthest slot away from the NB (which shares IRQ with something else)

tho a slot swap wont help as wincrap is getting BSOD each time it tries to access the slot it remembers and thereafter restores the table from a previous time, which is prolly bonkered too.

My suggestion, do a BIOS reset (i got your manual bassy so pm me on msn and ill send it) thereafter do a reinstall and you should be fine again.

If it is indeed IRQ conflict, you could try change the PCI slot where the souncard is (and even if it isn't IRQ thing). If that doesn't help see is there is something about IRQs in th BIOS. I recall in the old days (win98?) there were sometimes issues with the Plug-n-Play(Pray?) systems and it was sometimes fixed by disabling PnP in BIOS and manually play with the settings. Don't know if that works in XP anymore. If you haven't made any driver or HW changes it is bit funny that it suddendly stopped working. Of course the Windows updates might have done something to mess it.

Sometimes windows corrupts data, which is what might have happened..
The problem is, his motherboard doesnt really allow to change much of anything in the aspect of IRQ's, as it has a some automated error correctiong system, so Intel didnt think users should be able to do stuff like that themselves, eventho we all know, Selfdone is welldone ;P
