Right so if i start a game, my computer goes into a blue screen which flashes for a sec before rebooting, i cant read it.
Once windows reboots i get a critcal error recovery window:
BCCode : 1000000a BCP1 : 00000016 BCP2 : 0000001C BCP3 : 00000000
BCP4 : 80502392 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1

The computer worked fine when i turned it off last nite, no changes where made during uptime.

Anyone care to try and shed some light on stuff? If you need further info please let me know what you require, and where i can find it.

Cheers

Games tend to strain the system more than basic use. Check for dust that blocks fans, meaning system gets to hot (cpu, gfx). Try and run with case open.

#2
Vidcard is less then 3 weeks old, and i had it in for service on the other blocks at the same time. I doubt it is dust on 3 week old coolers

Edit: to clarify, the system goes to blue screen right at the start when loading up a game (5 sec from starting), when googling i found this might have something to do with vid card drivers, updated mine to the new Nvidea ones did not solve the problem.

have you tried installing old drivers?

Ill go back to previous forceware and see if it helps. I am actualy convinced its in the GPU corner of the machine, anything other then basic surfin or such will crash my PC (fe, imbedded movies, movies on WMP).

Any chance to test with other gfx?

Have a look in my thread;http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=21724

Especially the one about driverscrub.
Another suggestion; Turn off comp, take out memory and gcard and so and replace it (make sure it's mounted properly).

Have you updated Windows files? Maybe Windows has fooled itself out of order (hopefully not beyond any repair).

Try to go back to previous restore point if you have them. If that works it is certainly a SW issue. For example in gfx card drivers or DX.

And why those movies crash on WMP etc...I remember many players have option to use HW draw on them which increases performance. In Winamp it was called "hardware video overlay" or something like that. So I would say it is related to gfx card (HW or SW).

Recovery point didnt work, so ill try reseating and testing memsticks/card now. Off to find a screwdriver

I tried:
Reseating all cards and memsticks,
Diff vid card,
Ram sticks in other slots,
Single stick in either slot,
Other single stick in either slot.

Looks like ill be needing to format :sideways:

Found it, the problem was in the soundcard, which is odd cause i could listen to mp3 music, but not movies. off to try and correct it now :D

I give up,
I tried everything listed in the tread, and the problem wasnt in the drivers (deinstalled, and used driverscrub), the seats, the places of diff cards or anything else i can think off. I have shoveld the cards arround.

Thanks to a tip from Oth i can now give a more acurate error, its in the IRQL appointing of the drivers of probably the sound and vid cards, making them clash and crashing windows.

Any bright ideas anyone? Will a format solve my problem?

First of all, take out all cards you can spare (sound, some net perhaps) and see if the pc will run games.

- If that works okay then start inserting cards one by one.

- If that fails as well, it is not with your add-on cards. Then I would try and isolate a bad memory stick, try and run with one at a time and fire up games. If it still fails I will still say test with another gfx card

Alternatively, try and flush the ESCD string in bios - and generally resetting the bios in general is a thing to be sure you've tried.

Done all that, single cards work, vid and lan or sound and lan works, but all 3 at once give a IRQL BS. Its not in the memsticks, another gfx card does not solve the problem.
