Ok heres my problem: each time i go into a CS:S server it freezes in a instant, all i can do is press m to select teams but it dosent work and after 10 mins of just watching my screen it goes foward, then i can see what ppl typed and who killed who and then freeze again. And this happens on every CS:S server. I deleted the blob file and now its updateing steam but then comes my other problem. I starts to update and at 13% it stops goes back to 0% and then restarts and after 2 times going back to 0% it crashes entierly.  
 
So, anyone got any ideas what might help, since im kinda clueless and really dont wana reinstall steam and everygame i have on steam, a bit too many

This really is just a stab in teh dark, however I would give this ago for this particular problem of in game freezing. But it wasn't freezing for 10 minutes (or a hugely lengthy time, however it was quite frequent freezes for me) on mine, so Im not 100%.

I'm not sure if thats what your looking for, however it sounds similar as to what I have had and it fixed it for me.

Thx for the info Ex, it helped me with the uploader problem with steam but in game freeze is still the problem.

Is it just CS:S (and Steam) that does this? Or do you get similar problems in other games or software?

I get something similar sometime. It happens in all Steam games to some extent. Within the first 5 mins (generally the first round in CS:S) I get a nasty lock which requires a restart. It's only on Vista, and only with steam games. I turned off the communities in game thing and it's not affected me since (though it was an intermittent problem and it's not really been long enough to say for sure).
On my computer the game usually locked but on 2 occasions I could hear the voice coms or people and see their typing but the screen was static.
That day my housemates we reconfiguring the internal firewall of the router, which could have been the cause.
So it could be a steam communities thing, your housemates playing "linux nerd" with the router, or something different.

(Playing Linux Nerd is a game where you install Linux onto a computer and then spend hours adjusting all the settings so that everything that worked before with Windows works again using the comand line a psedo commands as ofter as possible, even when a there is a settings menu.)

I get this but with the repeating loop of sound ?
I have turned down my audio sounds (in CS options) and it was ok.

Well i found out what was/is the problem. Its my latency thats causing the "freeze", i managed to get into a CS:S server and my latency was over 5k. So now i only have to fix that, a specialist who handels my internet connection is dropping by next week to fix it.
