My favourite track in LFS. It has it all, even the worst pit lane entry and exit. Its got bumps, long straights, elevations, fast and slow corners, chicanes. It's never boring to drive that track.

It would be more fun with a bit slower car, but it's not too bad with FOX either. I did one magical lap tuesday night, high 1.02, drafting Kev for a moment, but I'm hoping to get at least 1.03.5 in the quali.

I don't know if R1s are gonna last, but I don't have time to test either. What are your experiences this far? I'm using the set I got from Boogle. From previous experiences I would say that if they last 10 minutes OK then 1h works as well. Thus, I'm inclined to stay with them.

Cu tonight.

EDIT: Lameduck has been hot recently. Time to practice spraying champange?

No, the thermostat is knackered on the central heating. Besides which,I have no need to practice as I have experience of winning in the European Underwater Pole Vaulting championship. :toast:

I'm on Boogles' set also and am going for R2. Tried them with 45% fuel last night and was in the low 1.04's. Only worry is keeping them hot as the wear increases.

I got the Boogle's set too. My experience is that R1 is best for the short race, but for 1h, I'm gonna put R2s. R1 heats too much even in short trial in SP mode. When remembering that in racing you have to sometimes make panic brakings, etc the tyres heat up more, so I'm not gonna take any risk - R2 for me.

It is true R2 heats up slower and the right side stays bit too cold, but that's definately better than burning red R1s. Have to be careful for the first laps, especially in the bus stop chicane, but after the first 3-5 laps 03s are possible.

My fear is that for 1h we are going to see numerous wall hits in the bus stop. In some masochistic way it is a fun corner, but doing it 1h and 50+ laps in a row and you are almost certainly going to mess it up at least once.

:) i too is using boogle's set , cheers dave
But have moded it slightly and run it with slightly less downforce enabling you to run r1's comfortably during a 10 minute stint , not sure if they'd last the hr, as i'm not about tonight haven't been tunning for the long stint but just trying to get as quick a lap in whilst having some great battles along the way :)
Gl to all tonight :)

I have just received a weather forecast for this evening from the met office. It will be cloudy over South City and because the nights are drawing in, sunset will be at 19:00 GMT. :norty:

Night vision can be purchased online at the CS:S gift shop, $1250 or £688 at today's rate. Sorry, no euros :)

Start was good but then came the 2nd ever disco for me (that I can remember). :frusty: :taz:

I was working my way up the field nicely, thinking to myself 'YES!' :norty::woot2::woot2::norty: when all of a sudden the vision was whipped away from my eyes.:crying::crying::sad: Flippin' disco! Ah well, there's always next year. :)
I really enjoyed the combo though, great fun.

Awfully lot of discos tonight

Yesterday I had practised so much R2s that when I put R1 on for the quali I was bit out of tune for some time. In the second stint I was always slowed by traffic until the last few laps. Oh well...that's racing.

In the race I had R2s and 60% fuel. For the start it went fine, but then I began dropping behind. I was wondering if it is setup, fuel load or is my engine getting damaged. Then Deetz managed to get past me when I was sliding in few corners. Was following Deetz for some time. Then Deetz hit the wall coming out of the bus stop chicane turning the car upside down on the driving line. I was few car lengths behind him and being half asleep couldn't quite avoid hitting him. My left tyres hit him and and went ballistic. It was a racing accident no worry.

We had a full grid in the start but so many discos and some accidents kind of spoiled the promising race.

The replay is on the downloads section but it's in two parts. Up to when I disconnected and after I reconnected.
