dam you vista

once upon a time there was a vista powered quad core gtx260 nearly all singing and dancing computer,
now this computer had a history of failing since it was bought but for 3 months now it was trouble free.
infact it was working so well that the master decided to treat it and download bioshock and the unreal pack of steam since they were having a sale.
All went well with the downloads and the master decided to run one of these said games, the install starts and up pops the cute little direct x install box, then quite unexpectidly a little red box pops up "im sorry says the box, but the certificates cant be trusted so you best make sure you have cryptogoraphy enabled in services or else"
i do exclaims the master and just to be sure he checked, yes the process is running..... strange.
The master turns to the oracle of knowledge "google".
please google help me out cried the master, but after hours of fruitless searching (including under mr chi wei's sofa in beijing) it was found that there was a cure for this illness but only if the master had been using xp.
It appeared to the master that the prophency of vista being a pile of crap was playing out in front of his eyes in 1650*1080 32 bit hyperclear corrected madness.
there was only one thing left to do, so he backed up the world on an external hard drive and set about destroying the prophecy once and for all (well at least until it happens again)
many many minutes later vista was born again in its uncorrupted state and propmply BSOD'd at the master in defiance.
not to be detered the master perservered and managed to force the will of the drivers and the updates on to it, Vista did try to fight but the onslaught was too great for it and the master won the battle.
now for the accursed code of bioshock and unreal, the install was started and directx box realised that if it resisited again it would just end up getting deleted so mercifully it gave in.
everything was now right with the world except for the fun that will be had installing the bf2 on the nearly all singing and dancing and mind numingly frustrating computer.
 
long and short of it is if you get that kind of message on vista and all the services required are running then you are fecked
