Did anyone see this on Steam 'News'.

What are the chances of seeing this as a fully fledged movie?

QuoteThe short film Escape from City 17: Part One, viewable on YouTube via  the link below, was inspired by the Half-Life 2 episodes and chronicles the  escape from City 17 by some members of the citizens resistance. It was created  by The Purchase Brothers, a commercial directing duo, and their small team based  in Toronto, Canada. They have been Half-Life enthusiasts from the start and have  created this short, the first in a series, on a shoestring budget using handmade  costumes, some donated equipment, and the Source SDK, not to mention lots of  their own blood, sweat and (we assume) tears. It was sent to Valve unannounced,  and we were blown away -- the production quality certainly exceeds that of the  usual community-made movies we see. We're told the second episode is nearing  completion, and we can't wait to see what's in store. We hope that you enjoy the  series.

PLEASE  NOTE! This live-action video contains scenes of blood and harsh violence,  and may not be appropriate for younger audiences or sensitive viewers.

Some of the graphics in that look stunning. Even the initial scene saying "Purchase Brothers" looks good. They've got some talent. Acting as about on par for a B movie, and the zombie costumes look pretty funny. But overall very impressive. I can see these guys moving onto bigger and better things.
And maybe Half-Life will become the next Doom (computer game turned movie) or there's enough plot to make a Terminator style series set in the HL universe.
Juggling Hard Disks over concrete floors ends in tears 5% of the time.

The actors are overacting but... for $500! I saw Ultraviolet the other night, with a way bigger budget, and I'd rather watch more of this :D

I feared the costumes would be too crappy, but they are adequate. I get tired of the bleeping sound from the combine as they die though, too much of that.

I sure would love more of that :D Great idea to base it on half life... so much potential. I sure hope they end up doing more than just ads for Valve.

Edit: on graphics - I do believe some of it is re-use from the game, I can even recall from where. But that doesn't matter though.

Nice find! think they done a good job considering
 Bring on the randomness!
Apparently I actually exist! Or maybe it was the drink?

Would it prompt a bigger company taking the project on?  HL is big enough and has enough of a story to it to make a successful movie.  Don't you think?
