The replay is available. :)
Here's my two penn'orth. I actually enjoyed trundling around SO and it made me wish I was more competitive if only to the point where I wasn't lapped! Unfortunately the blue flags started to appear frighteningly early and it's no fun having to continually move out of the way for a long succession of them. For the record, I do not go to spectate with the 'ump. I'm just being realistic. I watched Gnomie for a while...Outrageious!  :D Venca, eat your heart out! :)
Reports please. :)

I enjoyed that too, had it not been for two wall incidents after the start / finish, each necessitating a pit due to red shocks, I'd probably have not been so far behind, but that's racing.

Shame you spectated Doors, I probably would have caught you up before long, but I know what you mean about the blue flags.

Mille Sabords

Ouch!

That was a workout combo...

My race: excellent fun, a few good fights, disastrous meeting with a wall for a second pit stop.
That is in fact the first time since I upgraded from mouse to G25 that it felt faster.
Race start: Car handling was pleasant on full tank, good fun with Obsolum and Lameduck until the lag attacks. 3rd one got me into Lameduck's car, I spinned and hit Obsolum in the process... sorry again.

I even stalled and had to let the pack through :(

I started fighting my way up the grid again, and the car felt better and better. With the emptying tank the rear was also more plaful and I started to enjoy chucking the thing sideways in tight corners to put on power early.
This went well to the point where I beat my pb (first time ever I beat one of my mouse pbs with the G25!) and felt overconfident. I tried the straight full throttle... that probably requires more skill than what I can afford :D
The end of the race was difficult, because the TV show had ended and my wife was talking and expecting me to show attention. Second pitstop...
I had lost concentration by then but still made it to the finish line after meeting with a few more walls. Damage simulation must improve! I should never have been able to reach the finish line...

I am disappointed by my lack of consitency but pleased with the few moments when I could race high 1:50 to mid 1:51 for a few laps in a row. I should have removed the split times information, very disturbing on this track (both splits right before a critical action...)

Weel done Gnomie, impressive race and lap times :yahoo:

First of all, once again I had to turn off Vent for the main event. Previous experiences where LFS would stutter like mad with more than 10 people on Vent have made me scared to try it again.. next time I will try, though, 'cause I was missing it yesterday. Sorry for not replying to any chat messages also, since I'd blocked messages. :)

A workout combo indeed! The LX6 is one of the most enjoyable cars to drive in LFS I think. I used to swear by the RAC for a long time, but the LX is a lot "wilder".

The race was a good one for me. Managed to get a good start, building a gap early on. From then on it got a little lonely, but I managed to keep my concentration and keep the pace up. 850 shifts (300 of which were h&t) later I crossed the finish line first, with a sore ankle but otherwise a happy man. :D

The FZ5 at Westhill feels like an elephant on ice by comparison..! So little grip, so much weight.. will have to practice for that one!

Deetz

Well a cracking combo, I just love the LX6 on more technical tracks.

Well done to Gnomie, he scampered off at the start never to be see agin. Seany put me under some pressure early on, but I gradually pulled away for a comfortable 2nd place.

I should have gone for the quicker of the two sets I liked, but I was conservative. With a full fuel load the car felt a bit dead, a little too safe / understeery everywhere, but gradually improved as the fuel load came off.

Congrats to all who finished.

Anyone found out what happened to Venca early on ?

Looks like he decided to take to the left in turn 2. :g: Couldn't tell why by looking at the replay..

Lameduck

Great combo, great race. :) Well done Gnomie for the victory and congratulations to all who finished. Commiserations to Dee & Oldie who were disco'd so early in the race.

I had qualified in 6th, but soon lost that spot to Andy who outbraked me into T2 and from then on I had a battle to hold off Mille & Obs until I went sideways and both hit the wall trying to avoid me. It was about this time we lost Dee & Oldie, lags all over the place.

Slider46 was then on my tail (I'd lost all chance of keeping up with the fast cats) and we crossed swords until a tank slapper gave Steve the chance to get by, followed rapidly by Ben & Obs.

This little dice went on until I pitted just over the half way mark (17 laps)as I was 1.5 sec behind Ben and 14 in front of Mille. By the time I came out Cueball and Mille Had gone past and 3secs behind was Venca. Gulp!

Evan then disappeared ( to do his home work ) and Cueball & Mille pitted and Steve (S46) popped out of the pits in front of me, so we rejoined our earlier battle.

I was suprised that Venca had not made any inroads into the time between us and suddenly realised that Gnomie was behind me, so Venca had been blue flagged:yahoo: :roflmao:

I had hoped to gain a place from Ben when he pitted, and was trying to keep the gap to him to around 20 secs. I thought I had miscalculated as by 57 min he was still 20 sec in front. Then great joy, the message 'Jamin has pitted' came up as I entered the home straight :yahoo: and I sailed past as he came out. :yahoo: He then tried too hard on T2 and gave my good friend Venca a chance to get along side him on the back straight.:D

I started lap 32 with both of them hard on my heels and managed to keep them there. I was praying that Gnomie had not gone too fast and too far ahead and that this would be the last lap as I couldnt see me holding them both off for another circuit. I was going under the bridge on the home straight when the good news that Gnomie had finished popped up and by doing my fastest lap of the race I had kept 7th place. :)

OldBloke

I suspect the lagouts were down to me as my connection was crap all evening. Hope things improved after I dropped.

Yeah, I don't think we had any problems after you disco'd. At least I didn't. Sorry Oldie

Well, not really much I have to say about this one. I really enjoyed this combo all week and loved the race. I had one unfortunate incident when Mille spun in front of me and I couldn't avoid him, causing me to spin as well, wich cost me quite a few positions. After that I climbed back up through the grid but didn't really have any good battles :g: I had to remain focused and not slow down because the gap with the people behind me didn't really grow larger, but no real direct fights. Only in the last lap did Slider46 gain a lot on me - after I had let Gnomie past - and he was really pushing hard, which made me nervous. If there had been one more lap Steve might well have gotten past me.

I finished 5th, and I'm happy with that.

I know many of you are concerned about what happened to Venca. I think this picture will explain all. It doesn't pay to hang about on London streets!

Pic courtesy of Steve, although how he found the time to take photos I've no idea!

Lameduck

Spoke to Venca this evening, said he had trouble with his slow PC.

No trouble with the new combo, he's doing 1.53's already
