Dont bother with the big dl just get the updater and let it update everything it does everything its v good. It worked for me. All your need to do after is just tell cs and hl to update themselves whenever they want too.

My Steam has hung up on 30% of update started around 8:00am  which means I can't get into Steam by any method so it looks like another clear out and start again. I am not a Happy Bunny :rant:  :rant:  :rant:

Shall i put the emphasis on the drops back to desktop. I.e no steam in taskbar, no steam anywhere except coming out of my ears at explaining a billion times to 2 billion people how it doesnt work.

Yep and i read yours again and realised what you ment to say lol. By the way that happened a lot to me before i got it working try reinstalling from the update version not the large dl file?

As you may have all noticed I've been able to get steam running ....just a few tweeks left here and there .......but at least its runnin......


BUT....when the server changes maps I am often left hanging with the loading screen and have to close everthing down using the ctrl/alt/delete method ...as EVERYTHING freezes  :rant:  :rant:  :frusty:

does/did this happen to anyone else .........and more importantly is there a fix

I occasionally get left 'floating in mid air' while the round starts without me.(A good thing, some might say.) I then have to leave the game and start again. I hit escape/quit.
Incidently, I think it was untoward of you to kill me with such regularity after I welcomed you back with such fervour. Now behave! Be a good boy.

I often have to press my team selection key after a map change to enable me to join a team.

I allways get this when I join any server and when the map changes.
I never get the menu come up automatically.
