PS3 Purchase

Looking to purchase a Playstation 3 and seeing if any1 has good place to get a bargain

currently thinking this looks the best

Don't do it. My brother got one and now every film we buy has to be on Blu-Ray it's costing a small fortune. Looks great though.
If you're buying it for anything other that the Blu-Ray I wouldn't. The games on the Xbox are generally better. Graphics are pretty much the same or worse than the xbox (both less than PC).

As for cheaper deals, I did a Froogle search and the only brand I've heard of with a deal that was cheaper with the 80GB console was Scan. It was £282, but didn't come with Bioshock or the remote, so I'd still say play looks like a good option.

I have heard from a couple of Tech sources that the start of 2009 will see a large decrease in the technologies price but we will have to wait and see whether this actually happens.

Ive been doing a little research and most people say to wait until middle of the year for reductions in price, but i guess well see.

I do like my 360 although the noise it makes when im playing a game is just ridiculous, i was hoping that the ps3 would make a lot less and give me options in games and in movies.

But i guess whats another few months

planning to get one too - mainly because of blu-ray and the fact you can also buy PlayTV and turn it into a PVR, ...games are a nice bonus
