after a day and a missed ARMA session i am now on 2.2, took about 9 or 10 differant rom flashes to get my phone to accept the froyo update on a OTA rom that i was given, now on 2.09.405.8

it appears that a lot of us skodafone uses have been having the same issues getting it going

cheers for the link for the goldcard stuff that worked a treat everytime i flashed, it is nearly risk free very few failures using the automated program

sulky is now happy again... official

after the vodafone issue it looks like the 2.2 OTA update has been pulled to stop all us vodafone users scampering away, unless you can get a 2.2 update from a site it is not working for anyone ota so installed 1.21.405.2 and then installed 2.2 rom available from below

in short

1 backed up and formated sd card
2 goldcarded
3 copied  1.21.405.2 rom to phone
4 used bootloader to update
5 all updated
6 goldcarded
7 copied 2.09.405.8 rom to phone
8 used bootloader to update
9 all done 2.2 yes!!!!

The above was just a summary of how I sorted my phone out, if you wish to do yours please use offical guides

And do it at your own risk

You didn't miss any more than normal (37 bullets and one enemy with a scratched elbow is your normal tally right?).

Glad you got it sorted mate, now get back on the servers!

Bah, 2.2 is sooo yesterday ;) Nah, seriously, it rocks - but be careful with google backup, it has issues.

It does not sync all apps properly, especially if you have non-market apps, and it also stalls the phone badly, whenever it decides to sync. Took me a while and some villainrom support to learn that!
