Hey Folks.

Had a chat with ArithonUk on TS today. He won a code for Black Ops: First Strick DLC and has said that he's happy to donate at the LAN.

As it's only one prize, it's difficult to give to the COD4 winner(s). The only thing that I could think of was to offer it to the player with the most kills in the final round of the COD4 event. This could even end up being someone from the losing team.

Thoughts?

very generous, and a good prize.
however, the winner won't be using it on our server just yet, as we are not supporting the DLC.
When/if the price drops, or enough players get it, then we will support it.

The reason we are not supporting the DLC atm is that, if say 50% of our players get it, when a new map comes up on our server, anyone who doesn't have it is kicked. so we lose 50% of our playerbase.
It's been a slog to get a game going with a minimum of 6 (thankfully reduced to 4 now).

Fair Enough Blunty but it's still a suitable prize for those that like the game..

Couldn't this be raffled?

We'd probably make the money back easily?

More money for the server kitty.

It could be but we're not desperately trying to raise money for the server fund at the minute. With the Supporting Member model in place (and the move to rented servers negating the need for major hardware upgrades) things are currently pretty healthy. So let's offer it as a prize and give a little something back :)
