Just wondering what your thoughts are on this game coming out next month (10/6/11)

Personally i cant remember the original titles but can you?


Considering this game has been a while in the making ive just watched the trailer on the game and well, The graphics seem a bit err pants :/

i remember the old ones quite well, i remember thinking the gfx were awesome and the gameplay great, so a couple of years ago i reinstalled , gameplay still great but he hasnt aged well at all

i remember the old ones, was playing Duke Nukem 3D all the time, will probably get this due to the fact i will be far too curious as to what its like

DNF: Short. Tacky. Dated. Funless.

Take Duke Nukem 3D, fubar the game mechanic, give it a slightly broken Unreal 3.0 graphics engine, then suck all the fun out and replace it with smut. And there you have it! DNF.

It's not exactly surprising. Gearbox were pretty much given a pile of broken game and told "Make this into something we can publish. You have 6 months".

I loved the first game and in my opinion a classic.

Have brought this and am generally enjoying it with some fun parts thrown in (played for 2 hours so far) but I am not sure it is all the fuss of waiting 14 years for the sequel. worth getting if you like shooting aliens, drinking beer and looking at naked women in a game. Although only being able to carry to guns is really annoying and a bad idea.

Personally Is ok but think I prefer half life 2 or opposing forces.

They took out some of the fun bits, piles of guns (now limited to 2), endless enemies (barely 250 aliens in the whole SP line), and made it into a poor halo copy with a duke skin.
 
The game also suffers badly from frame rate drops, and is at times barely playable. Towards the end there is also a set of poorly made game elements that are a pain in the arse to get past either due to the design, or frame rate lock ups at critical moments....
 
I did finish it, but barely. I would give it a 5 out of 10 rating, with the note that that is on the high side.
