I try and try but they just keep pulling me in. I use:

Xperl (3/4 of addon disabled)
Atlas_Loot (no need for atlas with the istance maps)
Bartender
TidyPlates
DBM
Quartz
DoTimer
AutoRepair
CrapAway (auto sells all grey items in your inventory)
Gatherer
Vengence Status
Recount
Omen
Postal
Decursive
DrDamage
Power Auras Classic
TomTom
NPC Scan

hermioneg

my UI is very simply...

GTFO (installed today)
QUARTZ
RECOUNT
SHEEPMONITOR
SPELLSTEALER
DBM
COMBUSTION HELPER (in old fire spec)

few addons  ;D

TL, your UI is visible on the video of the balroc kill!
respect! really impressing!
very visible when watching the video, that it gives by far more information about what is going on than my stupid setup. problem is: i dont have a clue how to finetune an ui like that! this is mp a growing process and at one day it looks like that. I always failed to understand the real possiblities of these tools. maybe we should have one day a "how to make a good ui" lesson instead of a raid. I guess there are many who would do better when having such tool.
I will definitely try to work myself deeper into that.

I'm very happy to offer this help to anyone who needs it and I am sure we have other equally if not more capable people in the guild who could also help other members take that first step into the world of custom UIs.   It does not take long to configure a UI and it is not the black art that some think it might be, it's remarkably simple and often just a case of installing and trying something.

Grab me on TS and let's agree a time when we can both commit an hour to talking it through and setting up your UI.

In advance of that TS chat you need to start thinking about what info you need to know in combat, what info is nice to know, and what info is an out of combat luxury. You also must have an idea of where your eyes tend to be focused during combat, so have a think about it - and it is different for different classes/roles - where your eyes naturally focus will have some bearing on where you put the key elements of your custom UI.
