Couldn't give a toss about the closure of Game but REALLY sorry for all those staff.

I wish them all well and the best of luck in securing new jobs.

Yeah, I'm sure most of the staff didn't deserve to lose their jobs (though there have been some bad ones I've met in the past).

But as a chain, such a terrible business model. I'm surprised it lasted this long. Next on the list HMV?

Yep it's sad when people loose jobs, especially when your job was working in a shop that sold Games! However there is a flip side. I was recently in Slough  and got to visit Amazons UK HQ :) The place was full of hundreds employees. Amazon was a company that not many years ago just sold a few books and made a loss every year. Now it's worth tens of billions of dollars and employs over 50,000 people. Those 50,000 people have a job because Amazon did well while other bricks and mortar companies didn't. So I'd argue that over all the move to on-line retail has moved jobs from one industry to another, rather than just take jobs away from people

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Yup I feel sorry for those staff (the real staff not talking about the hierarchy)

The Game stores in DK were horrible at best, so tbh i dont mind seeing them close.. I feel sorry for the staff, some of them atleast (the guys at teh local now non existant Game store were ignorant fools who claimed that digital distribution was just a trend and Game stores were the future)

Doesn't look as though its going to die a death just yet.

[h=1]GAME / Gamestation: Full list of reported store closures[/h] http://www.computerandvideogames.com/341489/game-gamestation-full-list-of-reported-store-closures/

QuoteA total of 277 stores in the UK and Ireland are set to close with a loss of 2,104 jobs.

Administrators  at Pricewaterhouse Coopers said the remaining 333 stores, which employ  2,814 staff, will continue to trade while they try to find a buyer for  the remainder of the business.

A consortium of existing banks led by state-backed Royal Bank of  Scotland is understood to be among three potential bidders, along with  American rival Gamestop and OpCapita, which recently acquired consumer  electronics business Comet.
Mr Jervis said he believes that there  is still room for a specialist video games retailer in the UK despite  the difficult conditions it has suffered in recent months and remains  hopeful the business can be sold as a going concern.

The retailer had a £21m rent bill due on Sunday and faces a £12m wage  bill this weekend, although PwC is expected to honour any wages owed.  There is also £10m in VAT and £40m owed to suppliers.
