Arguably one of the finest Sci-Fi writers around, if you haven't read Consider Phlebas then I strongly reccomend you give it a go.

He will be sorely missed when he goes.
Hero of the Battle Of Chalkeia
"Don\'t worry, none of this blood is mine"

OldBloke

Sad news. Easily my favourite SF author.
"War without end. Well, what was history if not that? And how would having the stars change anything?" - James S. A. Corey

TeaLeaf

Indeed sad, he's done some great books, many of which are sitting on my bookshelf
TL.
Wisdom doesn\'t necessarily come with age. Sometimes age just shows up all by itself.  (Tom Wilson)
Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships. (Michael Jordan)

Sn00ks

I will miss the Culture, always looked forward to the next book. Met him at our Poly's Sci-Fi society's convention. He was our guest of honour and was always a very nice and approachable bloke. Had time for all the stupid questions sci-fi nerds tend to ask and enjoyed a good drink.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.
