If I interpret a message on the forums correctly, Standard Beta backers can now download a special build that gives access to single player missions.
This is a bit of the text on the store page now:
Standard Beta is released July 29th, but if you pre-order today you can download and start playing exclusive single player combat missions straight away.

Arcon

Ah, I'll get that bought right now then!

This is great for standard backers that was prepared to wait for 3 more weeks.
Now they can start setting up their controllers and get to know the game.

Yeah, I tried a little last night but think I need to remap some keys on my joystick, other than that I thought it was good fun.

Just ordered TrackIR to use now with Arma but so tempted to get ED too :g:

ED is a must Oldie. Not kidding, everyone that pledged for SC will love it. I will be there until SC gets it PU ready.

It has a different approach than SC, but that just make it possible for these two games to exist and grow together. There is no question that SC has a long way to go before we can do what we are dreaming of, but when it is ready I think it will be great. In the meantime ED will fill that gap for anyone that is interested in a space sim.
Go get it! It is cheaper than a low level SC ship! Runs great on "normal" gaming hardware. Has superb controller mapping. A 1:1 Milkyway galaxy!

I am going on a 3 week vacation today. When I get home, I'm sure ED Beta 1 is close to release. There might still be "wipes" where Frontier resets your character, but after the "gamma" (RC) there should be no more wipes. Then we can start having real fun...

Gone for the Standard Beta but will get the Expansion Pass before the deadline if I think it's worth it.

... and thoroughly enjoying it so far. My thanks to Albert (who has patience beyond my limits) for his help in getting to grips with this :thumb:
