I was playing around with my GTX970 this evening and was surprised to find that it actually supports Surround on just two screens (something that my previous nVidia cards seemed not to support).

So I loaded up Free Flight and took some screenies that make excellent wallpapers (if I do say so myself) for those of us with two monitors.

Hope you like them. :)

When I get a chance I'll do some more but with different ships perhaps.  Maybe one or two in Vanduul Swarm as well. And maybe in Broken Moon, to give a contrast in colour.

tbh I wouldn't play with just two screens as there's currently no way to offset the centre of the screen, so reading the HUD and targeting becomes a bit of an issue.

I just tried one of your wallpapers, very nice indeed on a pair of 27" screens. It got me curious so I ran Elite in 5120x1440, apart from 2 monitors being pointless for gaming because of the screen split in the middle, it ran pretty well, nearly 100FPS on full res and options. I can sort of see why people would buy 3 monitors but I think the cost and performance hit isn't work it. Better spending the 3rd monitor costs on a rift or other VR device.

Nice wallpapers though, I'll stick with the 2nd Hornet picture. Thanks!

glad you like them.

Yeah, I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I get a third screen or whether to put that cash towards a Rift or Vivre.

What I dislike about the side screens in a 3 screen setup is how the picture stretches. It's not as good an experience as one bigger screen and TrackIR IMHO.

CV1 is what I want.

i had a fiddle around with my old 24" ips that failed at the october lan in 2013 and finally got it working, which means i'm now running 2x 1080p monitors on my 2gb oc 760, i'd like some help about how to play games on dual monitors
ie. elite and arma .

I wouldn't try to game across 2 monitors. Instead, use the 2nd monitor for displaying Teamspeak etc. I use it for interrogating Thrudds whilst playing Elite.

+1 on not using dual for games. First of all your crosshairs are near to the central bezel area and second the perspective is just wrong in game unless you use odd number of monitors.

I don't see the point in not just using one good monitor for your games and a TrackIR of your games support it. Saves money both on monitors and gfx power. Two monitors roughly takes a third off your FPS I found.
