The most common time for me to be on and mucking about in AC is Fridays and Saturdays from about 8pm onwards.

I usually jump on to the Star Citizen UK Facebook Group Teamspeak, but in future, I'll also sign onto ours as well and lurk in the Star Citizen channel.

I'm still holding out for a graphics card(s) upgrade as Star Citizen has been unplayable on my GTX 770 since getting the Ultra widescreen monitor (3440x1440).  The Titan X looks like it might be an option as I would prefer a single card solution but depending on the way the pricing goes I could end up with a pair of 980's.  Once that's done I'm available most evenings other than Wednesday and Sunday.

I got fed up listening to debates about whether SC is getting optimized or the way it performs now is as good as it gets or indeed wait as any of today's cards won't cut it. So I upgraded my PC, 980 GFX card. Runs everything ultra smooth in hangar or in space. 2560x1440 Highest Settings. The motion blur and lag of any sort is now a thing of the past, the use of track IR has sped up to a level of no noticeable lag. If it does get worse rather than better then a second 980 should do it but I would hope the optimizations that come before release will make what I would say is a remarkable difference from my 675M card, even more epic. Rest of rig in Technology section.

It only took a â,¬400 card and a new rig, but CIG and I eventually got there. I'm happy now :showoff::rolleyes:

PS. still takes 97 seconds to load to the hangar though from hitting launch!
Cheers, Bert

i might be looking at the amd 295x2 instead of the titan x

Still 23 seconds quicker than me :)

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Quote from: TeaLeaf;396531I think that there are a lot of good ideas in this thread (and the other) that will give OB a lot to review once he has ceased his piña colada splurge!

Indeed there are and yes they did :)

Yes, I'm back and, for the record, not a single piña colada was imbibed.

Thanks for the input, fellas. Particularly yours, Obs :thumb:

I've got plenty of ideas from this which I'll run by the current admin team before posting up here.

I'm disappointed. ;)

I'm currently away and have consumed quite a few piña colada's because the Spanish lager is so samey.
Unsure if this is a good or bad thing atm. Will have another whilst I work it out :)

(This is all just suggestion)

When I did STO, we split the group into the main professions that were available. Our idea was to create a 'round table' allowing each of the professions a voice. If anyone has been Babylon 5, its kinda like the Membari Caste system.

You'd end up with 2 people who are joint leaders of each caste (totaling 6 people), then there was an overall leader who's job it was to bring the meetings together (if needed) and provide an overall direction. There was a separate ambassador who was in charge of recruitment, though normally one person from each caste was put forward as a recruiter/trainer for their caste.

Everything was done by vote once things were discussed, questioned and anyone could put forward ideas (but only leaders could vote). The ambassador was not allowed a vote, but could discuss. The overall leader could also vote. This meant that there was 7 votes, it was not possible to tie.

Any member would be allowed to discuss and put forward ideas, but the usual method was to ask your caste leader first. Now I'm not sure if a system like this would suit both DMW and SC, however, there is a good balance of 'getting it done' and allowing individual members a way of guiding the group. Some variation of this system might work.

All good ideas and I'm sure will be taken onboard as we learn more about SC, the PU and how we'll be able to play the game.

Yep, good idea.

Let's leave duels and starfire wheels out of our system though.

IN that system, abstaining from voting should not be a possibility, otherwise you can still tie.
