I think my time with Battlefield ended a long time ago if I am honest...

I have dental work I need done, better paying someone to pull teeth rather than do it myself. Seriously, I wasted £100 on the last 2 BF titles, I will not waste another £50.

Unless something amazing happens I fear this franchise is a dead duck. EA have let down and abused the gaming community time and time again. If dMw members buy it and play it in sufficient numbers I imagine we will support it but personally I gave up on them after Bad Company 2.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Gone_Away

It's open Beta so I will check it out but for the money I'd rather play CS:GO.

Also, there's other FPS games coming out this year that I'm more interested in at the present moment in time. I agree that EA has milked this cow long enough..

Well where are you dude? ;)

Like Smilo, I feel the BF franchise has jumped the shark, same as Cod.

As an aside, I reckon on the steam marketplace I have earned almost as much as I have spent on all the cs games combined. Got a fat account at almost £50

I am much more interested in Evolve's prospects than any new Battlefield. Could be a great evolution* from L4D for us.

*Yes I went there.

I tried the free beta for Evolve, and thought it was hugely disappointing :(

I am hoping it was a beta thing tut.

Only because, reviewers seem to be so damn positive about the game, and I like you was slightly underwhelmed!

But I remain optimistic and interested, I just hope it proves us wrong and the finished product is REALLY fun with a few mates...

TeaLeaf

I read an article about Hardline today and it struck me that this game remains a great disappointment to me.   EA have a great game, but they have steadily and progressively bled it dry in recent years.   It's a death by a thousand expansions and a firm move towards pay to win.  When will companies learn where there support base is?  Look at CSGO, still going after all these years.

I left an epitaph for BattleField:-

"Here lies the BattleField franchise. Dumbed-down to nothing for the mass console market, divorced from modders and players by a DLC paywall and slain by carelessness and greed. RIP 2002-2013"

:P

My opinion has not changed, the beta was just not for me tbh.

If you buy it, I hope you enjoy it, but I won't be joining you this time! :)

I actually bought, and I have fun playing it.
It's overpriced and still feels like a DLC. Buying it using a VPN to Mexico saved me approximately 15 euros.
