AHOY People who loved Empyrion!

There is another space game amongst us, in the form of INTERSTELLAR RIFT, if I had to call it something else I'd probably call it baby star citizen, since the amount of rip-offs are quite comical, mobiglass multicrew huge systems and fps fun are all tags I'd associate with this game so take a look if you're itching to scratch your space itch.

If it is at all possible could the server gods possibly look at hosting a galaxy for us please?

Aye. Can concur. It's a lot of fun. Definitely worth a look if you're at an end. Ship building without it being awkward. Materials grinding doesn't feel _that_ grindy. They've done a lot work to ensure that team based work is rewarded.

I've spent some time this morning reading all of the posts in the dedicated server discussion on Steam.

1. The server function is packaged with the game so a community purchase would be necessary.
2.  The server has to be validated using an SSK key, generated by running the game in normal mode. The lack of dedicated gfx on our hardware would probably prevent this. Most of the people posting on the thread who are using 'proper' server hardware are having key issues.
3. Servers cannot be password/whitelist protected.

So it looks like it's a bit too early in server development for us to put time and money into a community solution. A dedicated server is on their roadmap so we can review in the future when more members are committed and the game demonstrates it has legs.
