I think I need more RAM and a better graphics card.

Graphics-wise I have a GTX670. Anyone got any ideas on a half decent Star Citizen acceptable replacement please? I like Nvidia so would stick with that.

Ram I only have 6 gigs so need more I guess.

THis is what I have

Their suggestion is on the right. I'd rather get it on the dMw amazon link but am not sure what is like for likey. Any help pls.

Thanks for you help and here's a picture of a cat which looks like Hitler (Kitler) for payment...

Any DDR3 RAM will do the job. I would suggest you get 2 x 8GB sticks to give you 16GB. There's no benefit to more than 2 sticks with DDR3.

May I suggest this, if you wish to purchase on Amazon -

Corsair CML16GX3M2A1600C10B Vengeance Low Profile 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL10 XMP Performance Desktop Memory Kit Blue https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009M0TCHQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_rcv2Ab5K3N7QD

You won't see any real world difference with faster RAM than that, other than perhaps a thinner wallet, and corsair are a reliable company to buy from, in my experience.

With graphics cards I'm always a believer in buying the best single card you can at the time. You're due an upgrade with that aging 670. The prices of graphics cards are high atm, and have been for a while, due to mining. That's not going to change overnight, so there isn't much value in waiting around.

That said, nVidia are due to release their 1180 soon, which may hit the price of 1080s. If you're not in a rush, I'd probably wait a month or two until the 1180 releases and pick up a 1080 or 1080Ti then.

If the 1080/1080Ti cards are too pricey, you could look at a 980/980Ti, but of course this provides less of a performance gain.

As for brand, as long as you stick to one of the bigger brands (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, EVGA) you shouldn't run into any problems, and will be supported by good RMA processes if you do. Asus are my personal brand of choice, to the point where I wouldn't buy another.

Hope that helps.

Consider the available space in your case when selecting a new gfx card. If you have just enough space for a 670 now then most new cards need double the pci-e space and are longer! A 1060 will outperform 9xx series plus the price of 9xx is inflated because it’s the blockchain card of choice.

Nobody can tell what a SC ready card will be as they haven’t made the PU anywhere near performant yet. Suggest you get the ram and seek a (second hand) 1060 to fill in the gap.

if you do decide to go for a 1070/80, defo shop around, prices are stupid

If space is an issue I have the 1070 version of the card below, but this is an epic price for 1060 version, but you can pick up some 1060s for a low as £200
