Just like to say it was an honour being part of her majesty's Armed forces for 25 years and a glass was raised last night in our "clubhouse" to her memory by a few ex-forces chaps

Long live the King

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

I swore an oath to HM The Queen, and she granted me UK citizenship, a moment I'm exceptionally proud of, we're Royalists through and through at our home :-) .

The Queen was a cool character, both earned and commanded respect. I always stopped when she was on on the news and listened.

Princess Anne paid a visit to our school in the 90s. I always saw her very much like her mother in character, serious with a fun glint in her eye. Nearest we ever got to a Royal but we respect their role in society. Definately not Royalists but I wouldn't say we're Republicans either.

What is so different now other than how the world has changed massively compared to when The Queen took office is Charles has been under scrutiny for 50 years and almost everything he's said in public is documented. Like him or not, people know what they're getting. I personally think everyone should be allowed to voice their opinion even a Royal. I expect him to do a few more speeches than Christmas, as he has more views to air. WAtching him on the assention this morning, he wasn't shaking, wasn't sweating, yes probably barely holding it together. Says to me he's in good health and he might be in office for 20 years especially given the long life both his parents had. He's definatley going to be a thorn in the side of politicians.
Cheers, Bert
