Hello all.

Anyone know what i have to transfer in order to transfer my already downloaded CS + CZ files from one Windows install to another ?

Have had to do a clean install of Windows on my spare HD as my current install is not happy...not happy at all !! ( due to me carelessly installing various software and codecs ...... and even though i've uninstalled them the PC works in slow slow slow time )

Anyway....a clean start...i've got my basic windows installed/updated and drivers all done. Now to install STEAM...but i really don't want to download all those updates...Anyone know an easy transfer and what to move ( and what not to )

Cheers

My guess ...

Copy over your Steam folder.

Start a local game of CZ.

Insert your CD key when prompted.

Test local.

Try online.

If none of the above work then search for the Valve Key in the registry and export it to a file and then import it to your new box.

Try the test again.

Not tested with CZ specifically, but completed with HL, CS, C:Gordan and DoD

Exactly what OB said: Copy over your Steam folder.

I did this last week on my work PC and passed the info over to [CoFR]man1_manilo who confirmed it when he did it the next day.

This prompted my move to archive my Steam folder to DVD+RW
#!/usr/bin/admin
use warnings;
use strict;
use boot;

I have my copy of Steam on a seperate partition so when I format it doesn't affect it in any way.  I simply make a new icon on the desktop and I'm playing again :)
