As we appear to have sufficient numbers we will aim to provide 2 Divisions. called for no particularly good reason:
  • dMw Division
  • BoD Division
Each Division will have 4 teams.

Round 1 will consist of 3 matches where each team will play the other 3 teams in their Division.  Those teams placed 3rd and 4th in their Division at the end of Round 1 will be eliminated from the tournament.

Round 2 will be the 'Semi-finals'.  The Winner of the dMw Division will play the team who at the end of Round 1 was placed 2nd in the BoD Division.   The Winner of the BoD Division will play the team who at the end of Round 1 was placed 2nd in the dMw Division.   The losers of these matches will be eliminated.

Round 3 will be the Final.  The winnners of the semi-finals will meet in the Tournament Final to decide the bragging rights!

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL INFORMATION:[/SIZE]
If you don't read this post then you'll be asking stupid questions on the day!
  • Before the matches start, all players should join #deadmen on quakenet IRC.  (If you do not have an IRC client then try downloading mIRC as it is very easy to set up and use).
  • Each team will have a Squad Leader (to be announced for each team).  The Squad Leader can choose a name for your team, a tag for use during the tournament and will be in charge of the tactics your team deploys.
  • The Squad Leader should also open up a private room for their team's private use.  For example if your team was called {NSS} then you would join #dmw-nss.  If your team was called [BoD] then you would join #dmw-bod.  This private room will allow you to keep track of yoru team mates, discuss tactics and importantly will keep a lot of unnecessary chat out of the main #deadmen meeting room.
  • ALL players will be playing in at least THREE matches, so please do not run off after just two!  If you make it through to the semi-finals or final then expect the extra 1 or 2 matches.
  • All match times are GMT
  • Matches are at 13:30hrs, 14:45hrs, 15:45hrs with the Semi-Final at 16:45hrs and the final at 17:45hrs.
  • Full details on the matches will be posted once the Squad Leaders have been announced and they have picked their teams.
  • The server password for all matches will be dmwtourney
  • The tournament will be played on CS1.6.  Round 1 will require 6 CS servers, dMw will provide 4 and BoD have kindly agreed to provide 2 servers.  The semi-finals and finals will be played on the dMw servers to release BoD's public servers again asap.
  • At the end of Round 1 (i.e. after the first 3 matches) the teams will be ranked within their Division on the basis of rounds won.   In the event of a tie a single knife round will be held to decide the victor.
  • During Round 1 each Squad Leader must post each match result and their cumulative rounds won totals in the special section that will be opened on Tournament Day.
The chosen selection of Tournament maps will be announced shortly.

I hope the above helps, GL & HF peeps!

Stupid question No.1

Are we playing MR12, CO or something else?

Beginner's question:

Is there any rule as to which scripts are allowed? Lots of special-skill scripts are out there, shouldn't we be limited to "Buy" scripts only?

Absolutely spot on.  Anything else is a big NO!  And if you're on HLTV then anything else will be spotted when someone watches through the demos later on.
