Irritating sounds

Have you ever been on a server where they're forever playing stupid sounds? Such as 'Oi've been drinkin' loike an eejit!' and 'Doh!' 32 times in a row. The list goes on. I of course cannot name specific servers, but if you want to prevent such silly goings on, check this.
In your cs folder/sounds/misc lie all the offending noises. click on them to see which ones offend you most and delete(or move to another place)them.
Next go to you config.cfg file and find 'allow downloads' and change the 1 for a 0. Bingo! no more distracting irritations.
This of course disables servers downloading maps etc. but did anyone, I wonder, wait around while a map downloaded. I've always found it quicker to find the map and install it myself.
I appreciate most of you will know all this but hey, someone might benifit.

Yes I agree with you fully. Please make sure that cbm removes their extra sounds that you have to download from your server. I know sheepy with his crap connection had to w8 for ages ...

I'll have to load up my sound-transmitter next time I jump in the PCS server :lol:
btw, I believe if you dont allow downloads you wont see all the lovely sprays people have. Not that its a lot to miss out on though :roll:

Who said anything about cbm? Besides, what the 'Management' put on or leave off the server is their business, not mine.
As I said, disable downloads and no-one foists crap on you.

I didn't realise it disables sprays as well. What a bonus!

News flash! Duff gen issued by Doorman. My smart TANGO fix for irritating sounds is not quitw as smart arsed as I thought. :oops: It doesn't prevent all the nonsense.

Sorry. Does stop sprays though.
