Where do you guys find this stuff  :?:  :?:  :?:

I think someone has too much time on their hands   8O
If I wanted you to understand I would have explained it better

Gh0st Face Killah

most of it I get mailed so just pass it on if I feel its any good, and before that draws any comments, you should see the stuff that gets filtered out as being utter crap, not just crap like I normally post.

And Chimpy if you think we have too much time on our hands what about the people that make these sites?

It's somewhat odd to think that we humans are almost exactly midway between the hugest of cosmic structures (the Universe) and the smallest of quantum structures (the quark).

In case you're interested this is an area described by the Strong  Anthropromorphic Principle. It's a scientific theory that suggests that the universe is the way it is due to the fact that it was designed specifically for us to live in. It suggests the existence of a supreme creator who created the world for us to live, i.e he planned us before he planned the universe.

The universe is the way it is because it has to be in order for us to live in it, rather than the universe is the way it is and we are just a bi-product of that universe. So there ya go.

I'm with the by product theory myself. Although me dad has spent most of his life proving that quarks do exsist which is nice.

Just an average day at work I say. ;) I usually work on the nano scale. Here is a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) image that I have recorded with one of our TEMs at work. The arrow shows rows of individual cerium atoms that are projected i.e. we got atomic resolution. The resolving power of the microscope used is 0.16 nm (1.6 Ã...ngström, 1.6 Ã...). I just wanted you to see the real thing instead of some crappy computer generated image. ;)

If you are interested in more electron microscope images you should check out the image gallery at homepage where I work.

Yeah ... it is a cool job. Well I am a PhD student so it is something in between a job and studies I guess.
