I'd be interested in seeing that against our standard de_train CT tactics..... we may have to try that at some point.

We only had 5 last night so with 6 why not get him to drop down the ladder to emerge opposite the two guys from middle? Should give you some crossfire opportunities.

and I have just noticed that they never made it on to the tactics site - I'll mail them to G-man who I am sure will oblige......

de_train - standard CT tactics for a 6 v 6 or 5 v 5 match:

This is an attempt to summarise the current evolutionary state of our CT tactics for de_train.

Firstly: Remember that the platforms are numbered from 1 - 6.  Platform 6 is nearest T spawn, Platform 1 is the inside site on the left as you look at it from CT spawn.  Knowing the platform numbers helps you make a call more quickly than trying to describe where they are!

- one CT on the higher walkway at Platform 1 looking down towards the far end (opposite CT spawn).  This CT should not advance too far down as if they come under attack they will need to be able to drop down into the train yard itself without losing too much HP.  Suits a good sniper or rifleman.

- one CT on the other side of the yard at Platform 3.  Traditionally they are right at the far end underneath the train carriage near the slope that the Ts come down.  From this position you can see any Ts move across to the high side of the inside bomb site.     I have actually come to prefer this CT moving back towards the rear (CT spawn end) of the yard.  You can no longer see the T feet run across to the high side, BUT you can then QUICKLY assist in either the middle, or turn and fire up at Ts on the high Platform 1 walkway, or fire at Ts as they come down the slope onto platform 3.  I feel this is a more versatile position for the CT to take - I tend to drop down under the train carriage at about the point where the platform raises and drops again (at the middle route exit to the outside).

- one CT at the Platform 4 bombsite, positioned so that they can see the Platform 4 ladder exit, but still also see CT spawn ramp and the rear covered section of the platforms.  If the Ts rush 'Long 6' then you will need to be aware and provide backup.  Likewise, if the inside site comes under attack you can 'appear' at the CT spawn end and assist.  Your main priority though is to call a Platform 4 T attack via the ladder.  In a 5 v 5 match then this position does not exist.

- one CT in the middle 'rat-run' between inside and outside sites, preferrably with a scope trained (no pun intended) on the T 'middle' exit onto Platform 6.  A good sniper here can rule out the use of the T 'Middle 6', but be aware that the Ts can reach that exit a fraction of a second before the CTs - so if they have a good sniper then keep your head back and best be on the lefthand side behind the boxes (so that you can look towards Long 6 and the Platform 4 bomb site.    In a 5 v 5 match this 'middle' man also takes responsibility for regularly checking the T ladder exit onto Platform 4.  In a 6 v 6 match he can just concentrate on the Middle 6 exit.

- 2 CTs covering 'Long 6'.  The aim here is to create some crossfire, so one should remain in the covered area of platform 6, ideally such that they can see the 'Middle 6' exit as well.  The other should not block the firing line to middle 6, but provide crossfire towards the Long 6 exit.  The position of this second man tends to vary a lot, sometimes on top of the train carriageor underneath, sometimes next to the wall between platforms 6 & 5, other times right up against the boxes at the Long 6 exit to catch the Ts off-guard.

Hope the above is understandable!

on the other hand if were facing a constantly rushing apponnent you can send one ct up to the opposite end of ct spawn to whatch the steps down. Note that this person should not engage the T's but call the t rush. In Tealeafs senario this could be the sniper person. By placing a FB as he retreats he can replace himself on the slope.

By doing this i would like to think the other CTs have a confirmed rush call and more time to move to the inside site. I would imagine that you would get any cts in the middle (between platforms 2 and 3 ) to support the inside. leaving at least one guy whatcing the outside bombsite.

The problem with this is if you call the rush wrong. But then whatching 4 men jump over the railings isn't that difficult.

Also by whatching the steps down it only takes one guy. Also if no--one comes then you can pretty much guess that they are either taking it slowly or going to the ladder/middle or long route to the outside site.

Also, although i hate to say this because ive been using it quite a lot lately and thats a great ct sitting spot. And thats the Electric box between trains 3-4. Just sit there and as long as you keep checking the inside ladder you can hear footsteps to the middle access to the outside bomb site and sneak up behind Ts going down towards the outside ladder. Just pray that your a good shot for when T.s come out directyly towards you. But you have a certain element of surprise because no-one is stupid enough to sit there. Lol. Well excetpt me maybe.

This is a tough one - because the Ts can actually get a grenade to the corner before you get there AND the front runners can have already jumped the rails.  I proved this to myself tonight and got shot for my troubles  :(   That's why I prefer to stay back a bit if I am the Platform 1 peep.

The other thing I woudl say is that I am not sure that a FB would allow you sufficient time to get back to the slope - that one I will maybe have to try out, but tonight's experience on de_train didn't encourage me that this was possible......

Food for thought............oh, and glad you liked the numbers Blue  :D   Doorman did too - "do you know, I had never noticed there were numbers on the platforms" he said

The one thing we MUST practice on this map (TRAIN) is to call the platform number when the bomb is down. A call of "Bomb down T end of Platform 4" or "Bomb at our end platform 6" gives everyone all the info they need. :)

Nice idea for the numbering. It is so simple. We need to come up with things like this for other maps too.
