I tried it today with casting Healing Touch on myself (33ms connection latency). It took 3.2 sec on average. I have to say 200ms is a relatively long time; it's more then I expected it would be. On the spells with a shorter cast time this kan make quite a difference.

Looks like casters can gain some DPS if they train their reflexes :flirty: .

For Mages this means fire may have a slight advantage over frost if you purely look at 'casting overhead'/sec.

P.S.: At Drazila, I think we both have a different definition of what a reaction is. Personally I think what your saying is more of a reflex, since your are already anticipating the event. Reaction makes me think of a response to something unexpected. I think I just misunderstood you :g: .

I have recalculated ther numbers with the 2.1 patch details and compared my current Spellfire/Spellstrike/Robe of the Elder Scribe with the equivalent Tier 4 items.

Swapping to fully socketed (blue gems) Tier 4 Aldor would give:

Stats Gained
+63 Armor
+470 HP
+930 Mana
+12.25 regen
+2 damage
+0.3% hit
+20 Penetration
Procs Gained
+5% chance next cast in 50% time
Uninteruptible fireball
Stats Lost
-2.48% crit
Procs Lost
5% chance to gain 92 dam for 10 secs (spellstrike)
5% chance to gain 130 dam for 10 secs (Robe of the Elder Scribe)

Hmmm, difficult choice.
