I've got a little desk fan with its back to the open window.... so the fan pulls in air from outside... that works quiet well esp if your too poor/stupid to buy an aircon unit  :lol:

After visiting a few shops i was undecided between 2 units..one from currys and one from homebase.
The one from currys was smaller but had less features and cost a bit more so went with the one from homebase..Homebase AirCon

Got it home unpacked it (ferkin heavy) and switched it on and ...ran outside to find the aeroplane that was trying to land on my roof...Christ its noisy, so not happy i took it back and went to get at the currys one knowing that it didnt sound like the homebase one as i tested it previously (homebase would not let me test theres in the shop) and the bstrds didnt have any in.....so getting one delivered for wednesday.

Cant find details on currys site but £260 smaller quieter.

A friend of mine has a similar unit at the moment Smite and the only thing to watch out for is the length of the venting hose.  His came with one that stretched to about a metre, not enough for him to pass the hose to the top window, or across his desl to the big window.  And they wanted to charge him £100 for a 2m extension pipe  8O   And guess what, it was slightly non-standard diameter so a normal UK tumble drier pipe flexi-pipe extension would not fit  :?   If you get the hose length to fit your room and if you can place the thing right under the window and pack the remaining gap in the window with e.g. foam then they work quite well for a computer room.

Im going to be using it in my room and the bedroom so ive decided to put vents through the walls in both rooms then i can just attach to whenever.  

But yeah noticed the 1.2 mtr pipe was a little large

good idea smite, then in the winter you can plumb it in backwards :-)
ps watch that vent pipe, the air can be almost scalding.

I just had a couple of split condenser air conditioning units installed in my home office and another room.  They are soooo coool  :lol:   I feel ambient temperature is dropping.........  and some more overclocking coming on
