Looks like BT is pushing more sectors of its business into HP hands. Hope those on here who work for BT are looked after.

This is the first I've heard about this to be honest, but I haven't been reading the corporate homepages.

The likes of myself and Sn00ks were part of the original deal 4 years ago.

We were TUPE transfered across to HP from BT when they transfered all their Unix, Wintel and DBA support over to HP. The DBA element was taken back into BT leaving just the systems support with HP.

To be honest this just finalises what we have been saying for a while, BT has been moving away from supporting any of its physical systems for the last 4 years, moving the hardware and network support staff was probably the next logical step to cementing the partnership.

BT are basically becoming the account managers to HP's outsourcing capability and will continue to run the application an database support while HP look after the hardware and OS's.

To be honest this actually looks like it strengthens mine and Sn00ks jobs, the original contract we moved over on runs out this year (I believe) and this can only mean a renewal for ourselves.

HP are pretty much in a position that BT were aiming to actually be in, they were pushing for becoming one of the largest outsourcing suppliers and have obviously decided that the best way is to do it through HP.

We'll see.

Hope it keeps you all in a job thats the main thing :).

It's weird how you didn't see any announcements internally though surely?
