HDR is on by default in DX10 I believe.

As to my problem it is caused by Microsoft/ATI/nvidia (yes it does affect ATI cards as well)

The problem is to do with something called TDR and if anyone googles you will find no end of people having problems with it and no solution in sight :(

tdr is time out detection and recovery for anyone who didnt know

through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Quote from: Carr0t;248982This must be an nVidia specific problem then. I'm using an ATI 4870 in Vista 64 DX10 mode, everything turned up very high at 1920x1200, and it runs smooth as you like and i've had no crashes. I still don't like the game much, but at least it's stable...

One thing that is bugging me - why can't I turn HDR rendering on? The tickbox is greyed out.

I have a 4870 with Vista 64 and I get crashes. Straight to desktop no warning. I quick save often and play it reguardless. It's usually over an hour between them so I take a short break and jump back in. Bit of a pain though.
Juggling Hard Disks over concrete floors ends in tears 5% of the time.

Might have found a fix. Several people on diff forums have reported that going back to the 177.41 drivers has solved the problem. I managed to get those drivers from the Guru3d website and have installed them. Played FC2 for about 30 mins with no crash, fingers crossed.
