If you are finding that topics you've read are regularly showing as still being unread then try the following:

1. IE users should make sure that they are not pulling pages from the cache by making sure that ....

Internet Properties/General/Temporary Internet Files/Settings/Check for newer versions of stored pages:

is set to 'automatic'.

2. Set the forum homepage in your bookmarks/favorites as:

http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?act=idx

3. Navigate the forums in the following way:

If there's a green icon on the left of a forum title in the forum list then there's unread topics in there somewhere. Click on the forum title e.g. 'Banter'. Any topics in the forum will be marked by a red outlined icon on the far left hand side and a pair of chevrons to the left of the topic title. Click the chevrons. This will take you to the first unread post in that topic. When you reach the last post in the topic there will be three links underneath it:

.:: Next Oldest :: :: Next Newest ::.

Click the middle one i.e. the topic title. This will take you up one level where you should find the chevrons for the topic you've just read have now disappeared. If any other topics in this particular forum have unread posts then chevrons will exist for that topic. In which case again click on the chevrons and procede as above until no more chevrons exist in this forum. When this is the case click on the 'Dead Men Talking' link with the green arrow-like icon above the forum title. This will return you to the top-most level where the green 'Unread post' icon should now have disappeared for this forum.

Choose the next forum with a green icon and continue untill all posts have been read.

Hope that helps.
