Some of you may recognize the name of PadawanUK as a person that joined our forums recently from another clan (fgs). He joined after Alma (aka KnowTheFEAR) also joined from the same clan. Alma is a schoolfriend of my daughter.

Last night we discovered that Alma has gone missing after meeting with PadawanUK - it transpires that he is in his 20s.

I spent several hours last night digging for all the info I could and passed it to the police; info was such as MSN address, his job as shown in his profile, all IPs he has used, his join date and the IP he used on his joinup (which was a BTBroadband one) so the police can hopefully get a name/address.

I guessed that his name is unique and did a Google search for him which turned up a game review/comment he placed on Amazon - this provided a first initial and surname that I have also passed to the police.

At present, Alma is still missing although comments she made recently lead me to believe that she was planning this so it may be a happy ending.

Obviously we need to ban PadawanUK from the forums, my question is do we ban him now or leave it until this is concluded in the vain hope that the account may be used which would provide further info.

I'll keep you all posted - I'm just glad I'm not her parent, they must be going through hell

Great news! Just had a phone call from Alma's mother to say that she has been found safely :clap:

Waiting to hear the whole story but I will report back once more info known.

Re the ban, I would wait. You never know, give a guy enough rope.....
We do not know for sure what happened here, so let's not spread any rumours until we have confirmation of what actually happened. If the worst is true, then ban his arse everywhere we have the opportunity.

Just a reminder which I am sure you folks will not need, but this information for the timebeing is confidential until we know what has happened and then decided on the appropriate action. I do not want to see a law suit for slander/libel just in case we got the facts wrong!

Actually, this information is confidential irrespective of the outcome; that is why I posted it in the Head Admin Section.

You read about this but never really expect it to happen to you/people you know. I can imagine you all (especially her parents) had a frantic few hours.

Did we get any follow up then on what happened BB? Not after specifics, just what we need to know to decide if we apply any measures to PadawanUK's account.

I haven't heard anything more yet.

My understanding at the moment is that "a process" is being followed. I guess that various agencies will have been involved and that investigations as to what happened and why will be carried out (the police will need to know whether the child left home because of problems at home (which I don't think is the case)).

Step very carefully on this one.

I see we have 2 choices. Wait for a court to find him guilty or we can just ban his arse and give no reason. at the end of the day it's not a human right to belong to this forum. We don't have to a reason not to let someone in.

I don't know all the facts but I bet it never ends up in court.

I hadn't forgotten about this, it is just that I was waiting for more solid info so I could post something tangible.

At present the situation would appear to be more "Romeo and Juliet" than "Gary Glitter"! I have quite a bit of background info but much of it is probably private to the family so if you will trust me on this I would suggest there is currently no need to ban him.
