dMw Left 4 Dead Server

dMw are proud to announce that our Left4Dead Demo server is up and running. The demo limits the server to 4 players so don't hog it all night in case others are wanting to try it out - there are only two levels just now anyway.

Here is the nitty-gritty:

    cs.deadmen.co.uk:27030

    server password: see password page

    RCON PW: as per CSS

Server is set to "HARD" difficulty (OB and I played it on Normal setting and it was far too easy - Hard seems about right)

You should setup a shortcut to the -=[dMw]=- left4dead server on your desktop and add " +connect cs.deadmen.co.uk:27030 +password xxxxxxx" to the startup line.

My shortcut properties are:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 530 +connect cs.deadmen.co.uk:27030 +password xxxxxxx

There is a file in "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead demo\left4dead\media" called startupvids.txt - if you delete the contents of the file you won't get the videos at startup but it's worth watching the intro at least once

Leave the server after the end before the silly advert starts running or you will be stuck watching the advert and you can't quit from the advert :sad:

You may want to bind a key to "connect cs.deadmen.co.uk:27030"

Big tip, always aim at the head. Takes far fewer shots to down the zombies.

Pistols have unlimited ammo, keep your main weapon for the bad times

So far the game has been different every time I have joined the server - nothing is where it was in last round

Having trouble getting this off steam, the store page has an install button but when I click it just reloads the page.. anyone else had that problem?

Edit: Never mind, just read it properly and saw you need to preorder,  which I have now done.

Yep. looks like you have to pre-order it through Steam THEN you can see if you like it. :g: Good plan. I've pre-ordered it via the dMw Amazon doohickey
