That's no my experience Kreg.  I log into other games and always get hellos in-game or on TS.  DMR gchat can be a little backward in coming forwards, it is certianly not a community-wide issue though.

I think one of the issues is managing your expectations.  If you expect that every member will always say hello then you'll be disappointed every time, guaranteed.  Set more realistic expectations and you'll probably be surprised & pleased.  That's no excuse for not saying hello, but it recognises that not everyone will see the log on every time - take me yesterday morning, I was online & alone in DMR and a couple of hours later suddenly noticed 2 people had logged on (I was doing my heroic runs), I didn't deliberately ignore them, but I could not say if they had said hello or not as I was distracted with what I was doing.  Not receiving a flock of hai's does not mean you are not liked though!

I don't post very often as you will know. So it has taken alot for me to post this, I do not want to upset anyone but to be honest i am really fed up with being ignored. When i log on I say hi to everyone and on the rare occasion that some one say hi back. I know i don't raid but it can be quiet upsetting when bell logs on and says hi and everyone answers him and when i log on 2 mins later complete silence. It is not just me but alot of the non raiding members get ignored. I join this guild because bell said it was a great guild and it is and i have made some great friends and the lan was great to. But please can you have some consideration for non raiding members, I know when you are raiding that you can not answer people but alot of the time people are just in dalaran it dosen't take much to say hi, it is two letters.
Sorry it this upsets anyone but it has taken me a long time to get the courage up to say this.

for my self i can say i dont say hi or good bye to any1 due to that exact reason i dont wanna upset any so i rather just not say hi or good bye as it wont have an effect. i do understand what you mean and i think every1 knows the feeling, but life is to short to get upset by it none means any bad to you or any one else who dont get a hi or good bye.

Well, I'm not a wow'er, but I have always said hello no matter what server/game I am joining.
No reply can mean 3 things.
1. no-one cares
2. no-one saw/heard
3. people are too busy fighting for their virtual lives, or knitting a spell pouch or summat.

don't take it too personally.

Hi all,

Just found this thread as I have been reading through the posts. I myself am guilty of missing the hello's and goodbye's that occur in gchat. but to be honest I hate typing in game. That is why whenever I log on into WOW I also log into TS, come join me and have a chat. I find that chatting on TS builds much stronger bonds with the other members of the guild, whether you raid or not. And amazingly when you are on TS you find that you get invited into more groups with other members of the guild. Go figure.:g:

Also take in account most 'regular' raiders have each other listed as friends so when ever they logon you dont only see it but also get a sound alerting you to the loggin.
 
i dont always say hi and especially not to everyone cos some times there is someone logging on every 5-10 sec and i seriously dont see the point in saying hi every 5-10 sec, but when i see someone saying goodevening i do try to reply...keep in mind we are all humans and we make mistakes :g:
