I don't post very often as you will know. So it has taken alot for me to post this, I do not want to upset anyone but to be honest i am really fed up with being ignored. When i log on I say hi to everyone and on the rare occasion that some one say hi back. I know i don't raid but it can be quiet upsetting when bell logs on and says hi and everyone answers him and when i log on 2 mins later complete silence. It is not just me but alot of the non raiding members get ignored. I join this guild because bell said it was a great guild and it is and i have made some great friends and the lan was great to. But please can you have some consideration for non raiding members, I know when you are raiding that you can not answer people but alot of the time people are just in dalaran it dosen't take much to say hi, it is two letters.
Sorry it this upsets anyone but it has taken me a long time to get the courage up to say this.

Well if ya join when im on ill make sure ya get a reply with no less than 2 letters

It may just be peeps are busy killin somthing and when they are done the moment has passed it happens to me all the time. Tho I always feel warm inside when I see guildy peeps come online

Faling that jump on ts and shout loud till they bend to your will ... and the other thing is bell swaps toons like every 20 secs so i dont know if u logged on or he swaped

I usually says hi to all that logs on, if i dont ... its a mistake. I can sometimes forget if im healing a hard instance, but i'll make it better from now on

I disagree Jas, I have often given those very same reasons to Rob when he points out exactly the same thing to me as Ez has in this post.

Very few of the raiders take time to acknowledge the non raiding members in the guild to the degree of out right blanking them & it has to stop, especially if we are to continue to call ourselves a social raiding guild.

There is no prerequisite to join this guild that states you must raid, so come on guys, be social.

One of things I notice is the seeming reticence of (most) members to do things like daily random heroics.  I do them on all my toons every day and very rarely get responses to my regular ghcat shout of "random anyone?".  Bell, Sheep have responded regularly and we knock out 3-4 heroics on the trot to do all their toons, but very few others respond regularly.  It would be nice to see the response level go up given that most take less than 20 mins and deliver 2 frost emblems and some triumph badges.

What I have noticed though is that we do seem to have a bunch of people who are at work and in WoW so are often alt-tabbed talking to the boss when someone else says hello.  So I would not necessarily be upset with those people, but the others have no excuse.  A good shout of "HAI" to welcome people online is always welcome and should be incouraged - clearly not *everyone* needs to do it though or gchat will become just one long list of HAIs and that would be nuts

I concur with Ez's sentiments.

It does feel like a two tier guild of raiders and non-raiders. Looking over the Guild's 'Mission Statement', it seems that the Guild has moved away from the principles on which the Guild was established, which is reinforced by prominent, established guild members moving some or all of their characters elsewhere.

Don't get me wrong, there are some great, sociable, team-spirited members in DMR. It would just be nice if us non-hardcore members were acknowledged every bit as much as you more dedicated, longer-serving peeps.

Thank you for the replies, i do know that some people get busy with raids but alot of the time people are just sat in main cities. I don't want to be a moaner, but I do love being in this guild and one of the reasons I left my last guild was for this reason. Again thank you for the replies it makes me feel alot better and more incouraged to post in future if I do have a problem or I have a good idea.

It does not matter what rank people are when they log in, that has nothing to do with whether or not they get a response.  Likewise, I often get very little response from both raiders and non-raiders alike when I log in (as posted above), so let's not try to create a two-tier duiscussion as that really does not bear witness to reality.

Bottom line is, speak to each other and stop being silent in gchat.

During a raid, you can excuse people for not responding, they are busy as you I am sure will understand.

I gotta agree with Ezflow, the last 3 times ive been thinking about returning to wow, i log in and say hi and i get like 2 reponses at the most.. and then decides no ty and logs off again

but then again, most sections of dmw is starting to show this behavior

That's no my experience Kreg.  I log into other games and always get hellos in-game or on TS.  DMR gchat can be a little backward in coming forwards, it is certianly not a community-wide issue though.

I've had this too, but I just put it down to people being busy now. As I too now miss people saying "hi" sometimes :/

I've got my chat window setup in tabs, so when im in a party/raid I don't see any guild chat etc. But I do have a guild tab, so I can always go back and see who's said what and fill in any blanks I need too.

I am resolute in my postulation that, whether by coincidence or design, those who do raid on a regular basis almost always greet fellow DMR members who also raid likewise, whereas those of us who raid infrequently (or not at all) receive greetings far less frequently. The majority of those who do greet those of a non-raiding persuasion are themselves non-raiders, although there are exceptions to this as implied in my previous post.

It would appear that the reality TL percieves and the perception of reality of others differs somewhat, but this can be readily explained. All individuals percieve their own version of reality; actual reality always lies somewhere in-between the perceptions of all who perceieve any given event, some perceiving the event more accurately than others. In this case, the weighted majority opinion would seem to indicate that there is some evidence that my postulation has some considerable credence.

I would whole-heartedly agree with the sentiment  of TL's forthright (and refreshingly concise) extracation that it would indeed be good if we could all be a little more friendly towards each other and chat more readily.

As for Guild Raid Nights, I rarely chat while the guild is raiding, let alone expect a greeting as I log on. I am well aware of what the raiders are attempting and I in no way want to be a distraction. Given the proficiency of many of our raiders, this would almost certainly not occur, however I am mindful of this nonetheless.

I am sure that I could have put this all far more succinctly, but I like to reply in kind and it wouldn't have been so much fun.

All I'll say is that I'm a non-raider myself in DMR, so I have given a social member perspective!  I'm not saying we're perfect, but if people talk to each other then things become a lot easier and more settled.  

More guild chat (no 'lolchat' though) please, so greet members and engage with them.....don't ignore them!
