Gametracker - server registration - needs GL action

As per this thread there is a bit of leg work to be done before getting a game recognised by GT and added to their list of standard recognised games.

A full list of their 'recognised games is  here on the righthand side of the page.

If your game is not on the list then can you have a look at how to get it added.  The only exception to this might be Wow as it cannot be queried in the same way a normal game server can be.  

GLs will need to post up in the first thread *with the requested info* to stand any chance of getting the game added.  The more info you provide (in terms of numbers and popularity) the more chance it will be added.

Why do we want to add the games to GT?  As a 'team' listed on GT we move up the rankings the more members we have listed, the more servers we run and importantly how popular those servers are.  If we get anywhere close to the top of the European list then we should start seeing some traffic from browsing gamers, some of whom might stick here and stay a while.  We need to push to be towards the top of that list and then assess if it helped at all.  No reward without some effort I'm afraid!

I'm not asking GLs to break a neck on this, but if you can get the game added it would certainly be a help.

Can I just confirm whether or not we need to do anything for BC2? I think not but don't want to miss out on an opportunity to publicise the server.

BC2 is already listed, so no you do not need to do anything.  But for example Arma2 is not, and defintely not A2OA, so if we wanted that server shown then we'd need to get it added.  Any game not listed is one we'd like to see listed.  It may not always be possible (eg WoW), but I'd like the GL to consider posting up to see if it can be listed so that we can try to boost out GT standing.

At the end of the day it may be worthwhile or not, we'll have to wait and see, I'm just trying to explore avenues for raising our profile somewhat and this was a relatively painless one to try out!

Folks I'd like to start inviting members to join the dMw group about now, almost every admin/GL/GA is on the site and we need to make sure our game servers are up there too please.  At the moment we just show BC2 and our TS3 server - we can do better!

If you need help then shout at anyone with server access so we can rename the servers, register them on GT and then name them back to the original.  Server access people are Whitey, Gandalf, Oldbloke and if I can find my login details me.

I looked into adding 'Live for Speed' and found this.

As stated in that thread, we rarely if ever respond to individual game requests. If the admins deem it worthwhile to add the game, I'm sure they will. They can't add every single game out there to the website - that would be quite a bit of work and quite a bit to maintain.

Well, we do what we can.  If we have posted, referenced our own server (and at last 5 in total) then we might have a chance.  Guess it's Dogfighter's turn now!  Some pretty wierd ones are not there though - Arma2 OA for example.
