CoD4 server - connecting probs

A lot of people are having trouble connecting to the server.
It took me 2 or 3 goes last week and this until I could connect.
most people are getting this prob afaik.

game browser counts to 10 then exits

I've suffered this myself, it took me 10 goes the other day to connect (10 second time out) and then 3 goes last night.  What I don't know is if it is happening on any other servers too or if it is just on ours.  Has anyone tried other servers to see if it is a game or a dMw-specific problem?

Is this whilst using HLSW?

Tut and i reported this a while ago.

We had a problem where if you tried to connect via HLSW it would just count up.

If you connected without using hlsw it was fine.

i cant say i have ever had such a problem to be honest, the only occasional problem i get (with all servers) is that if i connect it says 'for low ping players only' but then when i bring down the console and type reconnect it connects straight away, i certainly have never had to try more than 3 times.......i dont start cod through steam, do you all launch through steam? could be that if you do...

I do launch with steam and have the same probs.
